Introduction

Polished marble floors, open-plan living and muted hues provide this Grade II-listed country manor home a harmonious air for maximum relaxation near the Cotswolds. The house is mentioned in the Doomsday book, with parts dating back to 1110. Spacious reception rooms, a large entrance hall and cantilevered staircase boast impressive grandeur, whilst outside the pruned gardens offer a private world in which to lose yourself to tranquillity. For couples wanting to escape the hubbub of the main house, the top meadow area of the gardens makes a charming picnic spot with panoramic views of the Abberley Hills.

Inside

Luxurious throughout, The Parsonage offers space for both relaxation and socialisation. Steal a few moments thumbing through the pages of a good book in the warm cradle of the orangery. Clink glasses around the dining table and later come together in front of the fire to share anecdotes late into the night. Harnessing a mix of contemporary and traditional style between the six bedrooms, each has soft throws, elegant furnishings and high quality linens to ensure a restful night's sleep. After a day stomping the Malvern Hills, take a long relaxing soak in one of the deep free-standing bathtubs.

Outside

The Parsonage sits amidst 12 acres of magical gardens encapsulating sculptured topiary-art, a fruitful orchard, ponds and beautiful parkland with an arboretum. With a number of formal and informal dining areas, there's plenty of opportunities for al fresco dining - think cucumber sandwiches, French fancies and jugs of fruit-laden Pimms for an extra dose of merrymaking in summertime. Look out for the tall fountain spurting out of a cider press stone; this garden has it all. Slightly further afield, the verdant allure of the Malvern Hills beckons with its promise of heart-thumping hikes, gentle walking trails and picture-perfect panoramas.

From the owner

“A quintessential manor house with its smart red brick façade and sculpted lawns adorned with topiary sculptures, The Parsonage is a country house venue that sums up rural English beauty at its best.”

From the owner

The Parsonage sits in a glorious elevated position overlooking an idyllic landscape with magnificent far-reaching views to the Malvern Hills. Rural, but not isolated, The Parsonage is within a mile of the historic village of Ombersley, characterised by its pretty Tudor and Georgian cottages.

The Parsonage offers a variety of superb walks, as well as local amenities including quality shops, a church and many great restaurants and pubs. There are even tennis, bowling, golf and cricket clubs within easy reach too. The Cathedral city of Worcester, which has a main line rail service to London Paddington, is only a few miles south and is noted for its racecourse and county cricket. Also nearby is the birth place of William Shakespeare, Stratford-upon-Avon.

The house itself has a fabulous history and is even mentioned in the Doomsday Book, with the original part dating as far back as 1100. But despite its age, The Parsonage is now fully up-to-date following extensive renovations!
