Valency Wood | Luxury Self-Catering | Boscastle, North Cornwall

Winding off the beaten track past wild orchid meadows and bluebell woods, arriving at Valency Wood gives the feel of stepping into a painting of an ambrosial countryside scene. This luxury self-catering holiday cottage lies in a secret rural location between the idyllic north Cornwall villages of Boscastle, Tintagel and Crackington Haven.

Luxury self-catering, dog-friendly home in Boscastle

Lose yourself amidst the beauty and mysticism that the enchanted Cornish villages of Boscastle, Tintagel and Crackington Haven are renowned for when holidaying at Valency Wood. Having undergone several transformations - from a carriage house to a stable, harness room and even a piggery - today this luxury self-catering cottage boasts contemporary features and local artwork taking inspiration from the colourful flora and dramatic landscapes of the nearby coast.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

An ornate spiral staircase leads up to the first floor, where three bedrooms and a family bathroom enjoy a peaceful and luxurious ambience. The master king-size double bedroom has an en suite shower room, whilst the zip-and-link and single room share a family bathroom. There is an additional single room and wet room downstairs, as well as an outdoor shower for washing off sandy toes after a day at the beach.

Valency Wood hides in the small north Cornwall hamlet of Lesnewth, two miles east of Boscastle and five miles south of Crackington Haven. The Valency Valley is a tranquil wooded idyll flanked by farmland and leads all the way down to the ocean at Boscastle harbour, where quaint tearooms and traditional Cornish inns await. For those who want to squirrel themselves away, guests have no less than 140 acres of beautiful pasture to explore, with a trickling river, reedy ponds and a well-tended private garden for sunbathing in those balmy Cornish summers.

For Relaxation

Beachside barbecues, riverbank picnics and clifftop sundowners should all be on the summertime wish list at Valency Wood, whilst in winter visitors can enjoy having the landscape to themselves. Nearby Tintagel is renowned for its association with the legend of King Arthur, the magic of which is captured in Tintagel Castle. Harness the imaginations of children with a visit to this iconic site, before returning for some family board game fun beside the roaring woodburner.

There is ample parking for two cars. The property is well-equipped with a washing machine, microwave, tumble dryer, fridge and freezer. The owners live nearby and are on hand should you need them.
