Cottage with hot tub Holywell Bay, Cornwall

Collated and collected both inside and out, this quintessential coastal hideaway cottage in Cornwall is filled with warm terracotta tones, rustic wooden floors and moss green flourishes. Slide out of the enormous bed hidden in the rafters, sneak downstairs to brew a pot of coffee under the dawn sun and return to the warmth of thick French linens for a luxurious morning spent in bed. By night, sink into the hot tub beneath star-studded skies before wrapping in thick blankets in front of the crackling woodburner.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

Upstairs in the gables of Little Portion is the king-size bedroom, an harmonious and snug retreat away from the rest of the world featuring quirky windows, heavy wooden beams and apothecary shelves brimming with trinkets and succulents. On the ground floor is the cottage’s large wet room, where Moroccan tiles, a his ‘n’ hers shower and large freestanding rolltop bath tub make for a lavish ablutionary experience.

Bright, brimming borders, vintage gardenalia and a rocking chair in which to lull summer days away under the shade of the pergola give Little Portion’s sunny and sheltered garden a bohemian and beatnik feel. Perfectly placed for salt-kissed adventures, the golden beaches of Holywell Bay and Porth Joke are just a short jaunt away, where long days lounging on the beach are highly encouraged. On return to your red tin roof cottage, collapse onto the outdoor sofa and whisper sweet nothings under the light of the moon.

For Relaxation

After breakfast in bed and a morning dip in the hot tub, pack the rucksack with beach towels and sun cream for a day of snoozing on the sand and cooling in the surf. Relaxation doesn’t always come in slower cadences and for those who find calm along more adventurous avenues, the coastline around north Cornwall offers activities en masse for adrenaline seekers; gallop across the sand on horseback, gently SUP the River Gannel or zip from the cliff to beach at nearby Lusty Glaze.

There is private parking for one car. Little Portion is well equipped with electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and a washer-dryer in the utility room. The cottage is warmed by both central heating and two woodburners. The garden is fully enclosed and dog-friendly.

With a cottage as romantic as this, you'll be forgiven for staying home of an evening rather than venuturing out for supper.
