Heavy antler chandeliers, velvet sofas and dramatic opulence reign inside this former tanning mill at the edge of the High Weald AONB, where classical interior design hides beneath the property’s tall chimney stacks which reach to the sky. Ornate doorways, oak paneled walls and enormous carved stone fireplaces offer grand frames for models and timber beams showcase the best of the home’s period features.

Getting there

• On the map The Residence is located in its own splendid grounds just to the west of the market town of Heathfield in East Sussex, roughly halfway between Tunbridge Wells and Eastbourne.
• By car This shoot location is approximately two hours from London, 40 minutes from Tunbridge Wells and 30 minutes from Eastbourne.
• By train The journey time to Tunbridge Wells from London Bridge is 45 minutes, followed by a 30 minute bus journey to Heathfield, from where guests can take a cab the 10 minute drive to the house.
• By air Gatwick Airport is a one hour drive by car.
