Luxury self-catering house near Cheltenham

Inspired by the colours and countryside of the Mediterranean, this Gloucestershire home hailing from the 1700s is the perfect family retreat. Settled in the heart of the Cotswolds and surrounded by the rolling hills of England's green and pleasant countryside, Evania is wonderfully placed for enjoying both long rural rambles and quaint chocolate box villages. Inside is a perfect coming-together of modern design and classic architecture; glass walkways allow views from the ground floor high into the rafters, while squishy Chesterfields and ostrich feather lamps invite long evenings by the log burner.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

On the first floor and under the original beams lie three beautifully appointed en suite bedrooms. The master, with king-size bed and standalone bath tub settled in front of a wood burner, is a true romantic escape. There is one further king-size bedroom with dressing room on this floor and one super king with Jacuzzi bath. The ground floor is home to the dramatic super king-size four-poster bed, complete with en suite shower room (perfect for two!). Outside and above the games room, a self-contained annexe houses a twin bedroom. There is a separate WC on the ground floor.

A sheltered, honey-hued private patio area nestles in the crook of Evania's arms, where flourishing olive trees and the gentle sound of waterfalls cascading into the heated swimming pool only serve to deepen the sense of being far from British shores. For a quiet morning, squirrel away under clambering vines laden with plump grapes while the brood deeply slumber before rousing them from their beds with the smell of fresh, sweet pastries served with steaming pots of tea on the al fresco dining area.

For Relaxation

Idyllically situated on the periphery of the Cotswolds, Evania is perfectly placed for days spent in hiking boots, hopping between tea rooms and visiting grand stately homes. Amble in the footsteps of queens through the award-winning gardens of Sudeley Castle, explore the stunning Broadway Tower and its magnificent views across 16 counties or, on rainy days, hop from art gallery to café to independent boutique in the regency spa town of Cheltenham. After a day of English adventures, return home to an evening gathered together in the bright and lofty kitchen before sinking into the hot tub under the glow of the moon.

There is ample parking for five cars at the front of the property. The large, modern kitchen is equipped with a double six hob Smeg oven, a dishwasher, wine cooler and fridge-freezer. There is both a washing machine and tumble dryer in the ground floor WC.
