Two sites on the picturesque coast in and around Newquay attract some 50,000 surf and skate fans to the Boardmasters Festival every summer. On the site overlooking Watergate Bay, 12 stages feature more than 200 acts, catering to musical tastes from rock and indie to grime and house. Meanwhile, nearby Fistral Beach becomes a surf village, where spectators can watch world-class surfers ride the incoming waves. Food, beer, and merch tents line the area, alongside art installations, skate and BMX competitions. When the sun goes down, there’s always the after parties too.

This stretch of Cornish coastline is a dramatic part of the South West Coast Path, offering magnificent sea views from steep, hedge-lined trails. Our luxury accommodation for Boardmasters Festival is scattered throughout the area, allowing groups of friends, couples, and families to retreat in comfort to a unique home by night, then drift back the next event begins. Options include a Balearic-inspired cottage with a hot tub and private firepit, or a handcrafted wagon with a roving spirit and bohemian soul – just twelve minutes from the festival.
