Introduction
At the head of a Cotswolds valley, Anthology Farm is a collection of tenderly modernised 18th century barns designed with intimate celebrations and grand gatherings in mind. Celebrant-led ceremonies for up to 60 guests can be held in the garden or the wedding barn. If you’re planning a church ceremony in a nearby parish, you can return to a peony-adorned marquee on the lawn for up to 100 (from 1 April to 30 September) or 80 evening guests in the barn, with tables and chairs provided. With flexible catering options ranging from elegant formal dining to gourmet food trucks serving the likes of lobster rolls with wild garlic butter, your wedding will feel entirely bespoke.
Inside
Built 300 years ago, Anthology Farm is a trinket of Gloucestershire history. Original gables and arrow slit windows meet Scandi interiors that lend a contemporary nod to farmhouse chic. Consider hiring the residence for a full week so that you can gather with your closest kin and prepare for the big day in your very own private wellness retreat, complete with a heated indoor pool, purpose-built yoga studio and cinema room. Between The Cotswold Barn and The Hay Barn, it can accommodate 18 overnight guests. In the days that follow, gather around the banquet table for languid dinners whipped up by a private chef and sip G&Ts by the fire pit under the stars.
Outside
Anthology Farm is tucked in the ancient rural parish of Whittington on the edge of the Cotswolds. A network of fairy trails, streams and caves makes the surrounding acreage something of an enchanting playground and a wedding photographer’s dream backdrop. Guests can explore hidden corners with a glass of English sparkling wine before taking to the marquee for a dance under twinkling lights. In the days bookending the wedding, you might head to the private tennis court for a couples’ game with your in-laws, or take the first hand-in-hand stroll as a married couple, exploring the network of woodland walks and stopping at local inns for a glass of red and game of cards.

“The Barns were originally built in 1740 and built of traditional Cotswold stone from the mines opposite the barns. The dressed stone and straight beams of the Cotswold barn indicate it was built to the highest standards of the time.”
What a dramatic first impression Anthology Farm makes, to us and to our guests. With the majestic backdrop of Doddle´s Hill and a huge arched window set into the end wall, we think it´s a truly stunning setting for a memorable wedding.
Its original use would have been agricultural, built to store the grain harvested on the farm from the surrounding fields, facing East to West with slit openings to let the prevailing wind in to dry and preserve the grains, which would of been used to feed the livestock, to make bread or to be sold at the local markets.
We purchased the farm in 2016 and relocated from Staffordshire, bringing with us over 30 years of hospitality experience. With the help of some funding from the European Agricultural fund for rural development, we lovingly converted the barns into what they are now; a fabulous space for luxury group gatherings in seclusion and comfort.
We worked with interior designers to help us create a modern and stylish feel to the interiors, yet with the feeling of cosiness and comfort you would want from a luxury stay in the Cotswold countryside. A great starting point to explore the beautiful Cotswold countryside yet a stone's throw from Cheltenham and surrounding picturesque villages, with plenty to do for young and old alike.

Do wedding bookings have exclusive use of the venue?
Yes, couples enjoy exclusive use of both the house and the surrounding grounds for the duration of their booking.
Can we have 100 guests in the barn rather than hiring a marquee?
The barn only has space for up to 60 guests, therefore numbers exceeding this will require a marquee, which can only be accommodated between April and October.
Can we host more than 100 guests in a marquee?
The owner may be open to discussing additional guests, please contact the team to discuss this further.
Can you have sky lanterns, fireworks, and sparklers?
Fireworks, sparklers, and lanterns are not permitted due to the close proximity of livestock.
