Winding through verdant woodland past wild orchid meadows, bluebell woods, and the pretty church within the grounds, guests arriving at Valency Wood will feel as though they have stepped into a painting of an ambrosial countryside scene. This stunning family-friendly luxury self-catering holiday home is in a rural location, yet within striking distance of the coastal villages of Boscastle, Tintagel and Crackington Haven.
Starting its life as a stable and tack room to the neighbouring Old Rectory, Valency Wood offers luxury holiday accommodation in Lesnewth near Boscastle. The cottage has been sympathetically renovated, retaining many quirky features including the stable partition separating the kitchen and living room. Contemporary local artwork peppers the walls, whilst muted hues and luxury fabrics take their inspiration from the flora and dramatic landscapes this part of North Cornwall is renowned for.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
An ornate spiral staircase leads up to the first floor, where three bedrooms and a family bathroom enjoy a peaceful and luxurious ambiance. The master king-size double bedroom has an en suite shower room, whilst the twin and single room share a family bathroom. There is an additional single room and wet room downstairs, as well as an outdoor shower for washing off sandy toes after a day at the beach!
Valency Wood lies in the centre of Lesnewth; a small hamlet in North Cornwall about six miles east of Tintagel Head and two miles east of Boscastle. The Valency Valley is a beautiful wooded tranquil idyll with farmland all around and a smattering of farmhouses punctuating the rolling landscape. Interestingly, there is an ancient Grade-II listed cattle pound in the woods; in days gone by the owners of an errant cow or pig taken there would have to pay a fine for its release. There are over 140 acres of beautiful pasture to explore, with a trickling river, reeded ponds, and a well-tended private garden for sunbathing and BBQs.
Beachside barbecues, riverbank picnics, clifftop sundowners... put a big tick beside that summertime wishlist at Valency Wood. Nearby Tintagel is renowned for its association with the legend of King Arthur and the knights of the round table, the magic of which is captured particularly by the King Arthur's Castle. Harness the imaginations of children and adults alike with a visit to this legendary place, before returning for some family board game fun in front of the woodburner.
There is ample parking for up to two cars. The property is well-equipped with a washing machine, Nespresso coffee machine, microwave, tumble dryer, fridge and separate freezer. The owner lives adjacent to the property.

FOOD AND DRINK
The thoroughly modern kitchen and living area combines chic with comfortable and offers budding chefs the perfect self-catering space to really get creative. On a summer’s day the courtyard garden is the perfect setting for an al fresco breakfast, or a romantic sundowner dinner with a glass or two of local cider.
If you'd rather spend your self-catering break indulging in the little luxuries, let an in-house chef prepare a mouth-watering meal for you and your party (on prior request and subject to an additional cost). Local chef Alex Key lives on the farm next door and can be hired for creating delicious meals on request.
At nearby Bude you’re spoilt for choice whether you’re looking for a romantic dinner or fish n' chip supper, although you can’t get much more coastal than Life’s a Beach at Summerleaze for relaxed dining. There are lots of welcoming pubs in the surrounding towns and villages serving hearty pub grub and cask ales.
