Make like a movie star and whisk your loved ones away to this luxury harbourside holiday home in Mousehole, Cornwall. There’s something quite fashionably European about Voyager’s uber-cool interiors which incorporate crisp white walls, shiny marble worktops and flourishes of gold leaf. Beneath its voguish veneer, this beautiful 18th Century home has a serious sense of history and place waiting to be discovered.
Dating back to the 18th Century, Voyager began life as a customs house belonging to St Michael´s Mount and the St Levan estate. Before being transformed into the luxury family holiday home it is today, the 1930s saw Voyager become part of the world-renowned Lobster Pot Hotel. It was here where poet Dylan Thomas honeymooned and famously named Mousehole the prettiest village in England. Couples and families will adore this cool, coastal home with it's lavish interiors and wraparound views of one of Cornwall's most-loved harbours.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
The main house comprises two en suite bedrooms with a third annex suite on the lower ground floor. Let the master lure you in with its harbour views and feature bathroom laid with colourful Portuguese tiles and copper bathtub atop. Zip-and-link beds mean the second bedroom can suit either children or lovebirds, with the benefit of an en suite shower room. The terrace suite is elegantly outfitted for two featuring a double bed with look-at-me gold headboard, en suite shower room, kitchenette and private entrance off the terrace.
Sandwiched between Newlyn and Lamorna, Mousehole is as quintessential as picture-perfect fishing villages come. Once Cornwall’s busiest pilchard port, today Mousehole’s tangle of cottages, seafood restaurants and bustling harbour make it quite the Monaco of England; authentically chic with a certain je ne sais quoi. Clement days are best spent sipping champagne on Voyager's sunny terrace, from which you can almost dip your toes in the turquoise waters below.
Feel like a true local by throwing yourself into village life; West Cornwall has a variety of boutique festivals and events to look forward to throughout the year. You'll have the best seats in the house when it comes to Mousehole's magical Christmas lights display. Wrap up in blankets with a flask of cocoa and admire the twinkly lights reflecting in the harbour. Laid-back and fun-loving, the Cornish will help you slip into holiday mode whatever the season. Take advice from a Vogue writer following her recent Unique Home Stays break in Mousehole: eat ice cream for every meal, watch the tides roll in and drop your city friends a letter: "Love from the seaside. See you in September."
There is parking available in the harbour car park (£3 per day) and free parking just outside the village. Guests can drop luggage directly outside. This ancient coastal pad has all the mod cons, including fan oven, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, washing machine and dryer. Please note the annex is separate from the main house and is accessed from the side via a separate door.

Property Owner Deirdre says
We fell in love with Voyager the moment we saw the view. We relish every moment watching the harbour bustle: the boats, the gulls, the sun on the water, or even the waves crashing over the cobs in winter. All this, and being in the centre of the prettiest village in England, is a true escape.
