The property was located in a very quiet environment with panoramic views, we loved seeing sunrises and sunsets and enjoyed being in the middle of nowhere. Thank you for such a peaceful stay.
Oska is a breathtaking place to stay. We all walked in and were blown away by how lovely the property is, and during our stay all the details that had been so carefully thought out became obvious. Both the inside and outside spaces are fantastic and the outlook is stunning. The owners have clearly spent a lot of time considering every aspect of the renovation and it really shows - even to our kids, who decided to spend an evening videoing themselves talking about how amazing it is! Thank you!
Oska is a truly lovely place. After a very long drive, we walked in and knew it was totally worth it. Oska is stunning and if you take pleasure in the little details, this place is truly a joy. Everything has been thought of and feels like a home-away-from-home; perfectly serene and in the centre of such natural beauty. Sleeping in the comfortable beds and waking up to the amazing views was such a delight. Cosy evenings in the sumptuous living area and around the beautiful kitchen island meant we almost never left the house. I couldn´t recommend Oska enough. Thank you for such a wonderful stay!
We were looking for a house to accommodate our family and wanted something especially gorgeous beyond the usual ho-hum. This was above and beyond our expectations! Unique Homestays will always be our first port of call whenever we book a trip now: great service, properties and value. Your team is incredible, it feels like Ritz Carlton level of service, but with a genuine smile. Oska was the perfect blend of personalised and stylish, homely but not like you were tiptoeing around someone else’s life. I am already raving about both the property and your service to anyone who will listen!

Oska
Week St Mary, Widemouth Bay, Cornwall, UK
A modern home blending with its rural surroundings; walls fashioned from the stone of the site’s original dwelling, shades of green mimicking the patchwork fields rolling all around and embroidered florals nodding to the surrounding wildflowers. Contemporary yet soft, new but still humble, this luxury self-catering barn near Widemouth Bay is a VESP Architects-designed retreat just five miles from the dramatic North Cornwall coastline. Introduction
Floor to ceiling windows, floating decking and cool Farrow and Ball tones throughout; it’s hard to imagine Oska’s former life as a cow shed for the neighbouring farm. Now, it’s all industrial fittings sat alongside botanical lampshades, vintage accents and seamless inside-outside living. An enveloping sky wraps around this luxury self-catering barn, meaning no matter where you sit or recline, drifting clouds, kaleidoscopic sunsets or glittering heavens can be gazed at with leisure.
Inside
Upstairs, an open-plan living area with vaulted ceilings and sliding glass doors leading out onto the decking ensures natural light and sweeping countryside views are the main event, while subtle pinks and pops of yellow echo the unsteady shift of seasons on the surrounding landscape. Down the stairs and three bedrooms offer serenity, peace and spa-like experiences in their immaculate en suites; one would be forgiven for never wanting to leave this harmonious abode.
Outside
Large banks of wildflowers, a sundeck primed for afternoon gin and tonics and 200 lavender plants radiating the heady scent of repose throughout the garden; here is a true haven from the intensity of the everyday if ever there was. Over the hills and not so far away, Widemouth Bay’s golden sands, reliable surf break and low tide rock pools tempt families to long days of salty skin and ice creams under the sun, all before retreating back to the garden for toasting marshmallows before bed.
There are three double bedrooms all with king-size beds and en suites. There is also a separate WC on the upper floor.

“One day, sitting on the rocks at Crackington Haven a friend said, "Why don´t you buy?" we laughed it off; we´re city people, we´re too busy. And then we found Oska.”
We wanted to marry the old with something very open and contemporary. Lots of glass, beautiful lighting, a balcony to take in those spectacular views and a huge floating deck for summer evenings.
We aren't natural gardeners, but that didn't stop us creating a beautiful outdoor space of calm and quiet. Beyond the deck is a lawn, wildflower meadow and raised beds loaded with colour. We also have 200 lavender plants dotted throughout the garden! Essentially, we wanted a haven from the intensity of living in London, and that is something we think we have created.
The sense of peace at Oska is incredible. The views are spectacular and, on a clear night, the pleasure of being so private and remote means that stargazing is pretty special.
We hope you love the house as much as we do.
