Photoshoots at Anthology Farm

Overview

Exposed stone walls, timber beams and enormous clawfoot bath tubs are just the beginnings of this shoot location near Cheltenham, where sheer elegance and a sprawling working farm meet in wondrous harmony. Outside, directors and photographers have 500 acres to play with, where the patchwork fields change in colour with the seasons across rolling hills, while the farmyard adds an industrial edge to an otherwise gentle setting. A collection of outhouses and their rustic wooden doors create backdrops for models, while inside, plush sofas and draping fabrics offer a softer alternative. Spaces

Within the farm’s 500 acres are numerous outhouses, a farmyard and its vehicles, tennis court, indoor swimming pool and plenty of ancient trees for photographers to work with. For creatives looking for something a little more on the wild side, there are overgrown woodlands and paths aplenty, which would be well suited to whimsical fashion and wedding shoots. Rooms inside the property are gabled with lead-paned windows looking out across Cotswold farmland while tapestries and large pieces of abstract art can be found throughout. The space can be hired as seen, but due to the nature of a working farm, some spaces and equipment are only available at specific times of year.

Getting there

• By car The property is around two hours drive from central London and about half an hour from the major city of Gloucester.
• By train The journey time to Moreton-in-Marsh from London Paddington is approximately an hour and a half, followed by a 30-minute cab ride to the house.
• By Plane Gloucestershire Airport is the closest runway, at around 20-minutes by car, while Heathrow Airport is under two hours by car.
