Unwind in style at this unique 16th century country manor house set within 38-acres of private stately grounds. Gifting views of the serene Surrey Hills and beyond, Guinevere is idyllically located on the outskirts of Shamley Green, just over an hour’s drive from London, yet worlds away from city life.
A unique mélange of old and new, Guinevere is a luxury self-catering manor house set within the secluded Surrey Hills near Shamley Green. There’s an eclectic and interesting flavour to the interiors of this private home, and the vibrant personalities of the owners can be seen in everything from the books lining the library shelves to the well-stocked kitchen and bespoke artwork. Stepping inside the architectural grandeur that greets you on arrival, there’s a warm, welcoming and homely vibe to the property. If you've more than reclining in mind for your stay, you won't be at a loss for things to do; from the indoor swimming pool to hot tub, gym and tennis court. For those who could dare to dream of anything more, there’s even a wishing well in the garden.
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
Lie back on the king-sized bed in the oh-so-romantic master bedroom which delivers unparalleled panoramic views through floor-to-ceiling windows. The contemporary en suite bathroom is complete with Philippe Starck ‘spoon’ bath and huge walk-in rain shower. Perched up a small flight of stairs in the eaves awaits a second king-size bedroom, where guests can peek through the stained glass window onto the garden below whilst soaking in the roll top bath or power shower. The ‘craft’ bedroom flaunts a French antique Corbeille king-sized bed and en suite wet room with walk in shower, whilst the king-size ‘garden’ bedroom on the lower ground floor brags a Bisazza-style bathroom with free standing bath. Lastly, the first floor French-influenced double bedroom offers an en suite bathroom, finished with plush marble-topped bath.
Fire up those endorphins on the tennis court, practice your swing into the golf nets or simply choose to lie by one of the lakes and watch the clouds float by overhead. Whilst children will be entertained for hours, parents and grandparents can find peace wandering through the rose gardens, picking fresh vegetables and just relishing peace and tranquillity. Explore the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty that surrounds the house; there’s a variety of picturesque trails – both on foot and for cyclists – to enjoy. Drink-in the far-reaching views, smell the fragrant pine trees and find a peaceful spot amongst the wildflower meadows for a picnic en route.
Do as much or as little as you like: R&R is highly encouraged at Guinevere. Rise early and practice your morning fitness rituals on the enormous lawn, with nothing to disturb but soft birdsong, then tuck into healthy brunches on the patio outside, washed down with fresh homemade lemonade. Afternoons are well spent perfecting your backstroke, or - for the motivated - heading to the gym. As twilight falls, what better way to end the day than with a soothing soak in the hot tub.
There is parking for eight cars at Guinevere. Please note there is no fencing around the two lakes, so young children should be supervised. Foodies will relish the two wide Gaggenau ovens complete with gas hob. There is also a Miele dishwasher, large washing machine, fridge, freezer and tumble dryer. The owners live within the estate.

From this romantic 16th century farmhouse you can watch the sun setting over the lakes whilst listening to bird song; it feels as if you´re truly removed from the real world. Guinevere exudes character and charm, and is a real ´home with heart´.
