Ariabelle | Luxury Self-Catering Mansion | Midhurst, Sussex

Dating back to 1850, Ariabelle is a stunning self-catering mansion idyllically set near the market town of Midhurst in West Sussex. French chateau style shutters open to an Aladdin's cave of twinkling chandeliers, period oak panelling and elaborate tiled floors. Look forward to long weekends spent swimming in the indoor pool, drawn-out al fresco lunches and tennis tournaments backed by the rolling hills of the South Downs National Park. Big country house breaks have never been as chic.

Introduction

Found at the end of a sweeping tree-lined drive, Ariabelle is a lavish home promising guests the ultimate luxury self-catering experience. Wrapped up within the renowned South Downs National Park, landscaped lawns tumble down to 40 magical acres of woodland before reaching the river Rother that snakes through the grounds. Huge windows framed with pistachio green shutters conceal the myriad of treasures that lie within. If the palatial indoor heated swimming pool, hot tub, gym, sauna and steam room aren’t tempting enough, Ariabelle sits within easy reach of Chichester Harbour, Goodwood Estate and Cowdray Park Polo Club.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

Up the sweeping staircase, ten dreamy bedrooms await. On the first floor, the opulent master suite boasts a circular zinc bath and separate shower. The two children's bedrooms on this floor have en suite bathrooms, while a double room, a king-size and super king-size bedroom share a family bathroom. Also found on the first floor are two further super-king size bedrooms, one of which flaunts an en suite while the other has access to a separate shower and bathroom. The second floor is home to a spacious room with emperor sized-bed with en suite, as well as a cosy double room which has access to a separate shower and bathroom.

Outside

Flaunting manicured lawns adorned with dramatic copper fountains, woodlands and wild meadows, the grounds of Ariabelle offer plentiful opportunities to relax and explore. Skip down the terrace steps to the tennis court and partake in lively family tournaments whilst the younger members of the family somersault on the trampoline, fly across the garden on the zip wire and climb through the playhouse. With Ariabelle's 40 acres of woodland, head off on foot and wander through the countryside on your doorstep. After the day's activities, strike up the BBQ for al fresco feasts or huddle around the fire pit, wrapped in blankets, after supper with steaming flasks of hot cocoa and gooey, toasted marshmallows.

For Relaxation

Begin your day working up a sweat in the home gym or make the most of the dedicated massage room where soothing treatments can take place. Warm up and unwind in the sauna and the steam room before diving into the heated indoor swimming pool. Once your backstroke has been perfected, hop into the hot tub for a relaxing soak under the bubbles before visiting the bar for a refreshing drink. For those with a thirst for the great outdoors, stroll through the famous South Downs scenery or saunter amongst 'Capability' Brown's landscaped gardens at nearby Petworth House. After long countryside stomps, curl up beside one of Ariabelle's open fires and plan tomorrow's adventure.

The Practicalities

Ariabelle is fully equipped with an Aga, wine chiller, fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, microwave and separate caterer's kitchen for functions.
