Robin Hood’s Bay

A lesser-known UK beach holiday destination, the sandy beaches of Robin Hood’s Bay are beautifully unspoilt. Families with children love to while away the hours hunting for fossils or exploring the maze of tiny streets steeped in smuggling history.

With so much history, heritage and culture you cannot help but fall in love with North Yorkshire and in particular, the picturesque fishing village Robin Hood’s Bay. The village was the inspiration behind and setting for the famous Bramlewick novels by Leo Walmsley. Whilst it still remains doubtful that Robin Hood himself was ever in the vicinity, the intriguing storybook charm of Robin Hood’s Bay certainly reigns true.

After a day stomping the coast path or exploring the picturesque harbour towns of Yorkshire, relax in pure luxury in a self-catering holiday cottage. Whether snuggled up in front of a wood burner talking into the wee hours or sat outside your home-from-home with your loved one gazing at the moon’s reflection glistening on the ocean, both seaside abodes and country cottages in North Yorkshire offer blissful escapes from the hub of the city.
