Introduction
Experience life on the ocean wave without leaving the safety of the shore – or the hot tub. At the Viewing Gallery, landlubbers can enjoy far-reaching vistas out to the horizon, watch for seals playing in the surf and sit agog at the breathtaking sunsets all from the comfort of the private deck. Water babies can hit the waves for a heart-thumping surf or simply enjoy an invigorating paddle, there's no other feeling like it. After a day at the beach with the little ones, there's no better way to recount the day's adventures than with an al fresco feast out on the terrace. Gather French sticks, grilled lobster and bowls of fresh leafy salads.

Beautifully framing the outside seascapes through enormous windows, The Viewing Gallery boasts an ever-changing canvas. Open up the doors to the terrace in summer to receive a balmy breeze, whilst in winter months snuggle up by the woodburner with a hot chocolate and storm watch from the comfort of the sofa. Sleeping six guests over three bedrooms, everyone is sure of a blissful nights’ sleep after days of adventure. The first-floor king-size master bedroom has its own balcony, perfect for stargazing with a glass of something chilled once the children are asleep.
Outside
The Viewing Gallery occupies an enviable location overlooking Portreath beach, just a short walk down (and a steep walk back!) to the characterful inns and cafes which pepper this old harbour town. If you can pull yourself away from the gardens and sun-drenched terrace, the Tramway Coast to Coast Trail from Portreath to Devoran is one of the most pleasant ways to explore the area. Favourite foodie haunt St Ives is just a half hour drive away with its selection of acclaimed eateries, whilst no visit to Portreath is complete without trying a proper Cornish pasty from Portreath Bakery.

Getting there
- On the Map This luxury beach house is equidistant between St Agnes and St Ives, Portreath is on the north Cornwall coast.
- By Car From London, take the M4 towards Bath, the M5 South and the A30 to Cornwall and follow the directions provided to the property.
- By Train The nearest train station is Truro (14 miles away) with mainline direct services to and from London Paddington almost every hour.
- By Air The nearest airport is either Newquay (half hour drive) or Exeter (one and a half hour drive).

“We had been looking for a while for the perfect property anywhere in the UK but in our hearts, we knew we really wanted it to be in Cornwall. Not just for us but for our three children who had their own wishlists!”
Trundling down Green Lane, that glimpse of the sea framed by greenery and the excitement starts to build. A little further and we arrived. From the moment we walked into the lounge we could not take our eyes off the mesmerising panoramic sea view, and we knew this was what we had been waiting for.
From lazy days on the sun loungers to relaxing in the hot tub with a glass or two. Take a short walk down to the beach or a cliff top walk to blow the cobwebs away. It is a place that has special memories for us as we often holidayed in Portreath, and somehow has an immediate calming effect as soon as we cross the county border.

Tehidy Country Park is just over a mile from Portreath and comprises around 250 acres of woodland, nature trails, bridleways and mountain bike tracks, as well as several ponds and a lake with swans (don´t forget the bread crumbs!).

The Viewing Gallery is located only a short drive from the surf beaches of St Ives Bay – Godrevy, Gwithian and Hayle – and the fishing village of Porthleven to the south with one of the best surf breaks in the country.

This beautiful property is just half an hour from the artsy town of St Ives, where you can pay a visit to the Tate St Ives and find out why famous artists favoured the magical light in this picturesque corner of Cornwall.

A stone´s throw from the Viewing Gallery, The Treleigh Arms serves excellent reasonably-priced traditional food. Pull up a seat in the bar, enjoy family meals in the restaurant and bask in the sunshine on the terrace outside.

The Viewing Gallery is an absolutely first class house in a stunning location and is very well appointed. This was our second stay with Unique Homestays and it would be hard to beat!

Wonderful property, we could not fault a thing. It´s been a while since I´ve vacationed in a UK home and didn´t know what to expect, but everything we could require was provided and the property absolutely exceeded expectations.
The property is absolutely fantastic - a fabulous location, made the most of by the spectacular panoramic windows. The property was extremely well equipped and prepared for our arrival, I can´t fault it at all.
We had a lovely time at The Viewing Gallery and we were very sad to leave. The property really is located in the most awesome location overlooking the sea. We were lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves and woke to the most amazing view. It was so peaceful and rejuvenating and we have both returned feeling so much better for our break, just very very sad now that it is over!
Just amazing....Can´t wait to go back! And we will definitely be returning! Absolutely amazing property in an amazing location! We´ve not stopped grinning all week!
