Aphrodite | Luxury Coastal Holiday Home | Boscastle, Cornwall

Trevalga, Boscastle, Cornwall, UK

An enchantingly celestial holiday home hidden between the mystical villages of Boscastle and Tintagel, Aphrodite promises a restorative self-catering escape on the edge of the wild North Cornwall coast. This luxury home is perfectly placed for watching ombre sunsets melt from heavens to horizon; a blissful base for creative solo breaks and romantic couples’ getaways.

Bright, spacious and set over five beautifully appointed floors, Aphrodite enjoys spectacular sea views running up and down the undulating cliffs of rugged North Cornwall. Settle around the crackling fireplace and let Mother Nature's magic show take centre stage in the floor-length arched sitting room window. Whether it be glassy summer days or dramatic winter storms, the cinematic coastal views will take your breath away whatever the weather. Gather up your loved ones, two and four-legged alike, and discover the many secret hiding places in and around this whimsical holiday home and its gardens.

A tranquil haven where relaxation reigns, this luxury chapel conversion is delightfully eclectic in every way; upcycled furnishings complement the quirky design, while simple Scandi-style white-washed floors run throughout. Ease into the day by watching the sea from the comfort of the king-size bed, hands wrapped around a cup of tea. Down the stone spiral staircases to the lower ground floors, the deep bathtub awaits for lengthy soaks in heady essential oils, while the monsoon shower wet room is the perfect place to rinse off from a day tramping along the Cornish coastal paths and swimming in the secret coves between.

With the South West Coast Path just minutes from Aphrodite’s doorstep, throw on walking boots and explore North Cornwall’s spectacular surroundings. Trek through the ancient woodlands of St Nectan’s Glen two miles down the lane, where ivy-clad trees hide Cornish piskies, or continue along the cliffs to descend the steep track through the Vale of Avalon to King Arthur’s castle and Merlin’s cave. Home from a day’s adventuring, retreat to the gardens and summerhouse located across the lane from the chapel, to soak-in the last of the day's sunlight and magnificent views of the Atlantic.

From the owner

“Aphrodite has a very special place in our hearts; especially beautiful on a summer’s evening when the sun pours in through the arched windows and fills the space with a golden, celestial light and magnificent coastal views. This really is a magical part of Cornwall.”

From the owner

For a while we had been hunting for a 'home with a view' somewhere tranquil and calm with that something extra special. Before we had even stepped foot inside the property, the sea views that greeted us from the winding track down the hill were impressive and had us immediately captivated. Inside, and spread over five floors, the space and sea views really captured our imagination.

We went from the ground floor down to the bathroom then scrambled right up to the crow's nest mezzanine, struck by the sitting room views half-way. We envisaged where we'd place the bed immediately, rearranging the house in our heads, and we left after that first visit keeping everything crossed that it would be ours.

There is a wonderful sense of calm that falls over you when you visit and we wanted this to be reflected within the interior style, so we used a cool palette of pastel colours to decorate. We have thoroughly enjoyed making the property our own; giving pre-loved furniture finds a new home, looking out for quirky pieces that reflect the history of the building and putting on our own take on this 'heavenly' home.

Guest Testimonials

We had a lovely stay at Aphrodite. The property is amazing, totally unique and very special. We had some very relaxing and comfortable evenings in front of the log burner and some great days out exploring Tintagel, Port Isaac and Fowey, plus some lovely beach days at Polzeath and Polkerris. All in all, a fantastic break and we´re sorry to be going home. Thank you.

Aphrodite is gorgeous! We booked Aphrodite for a birthday and it turned out to be more special than we could have ever imagined. Beautifully decorated, stunning views, and a lovely summerhouse to sit and snooze in! All the extras were of fabulous quality, nothing could have been better. We sat many nights just watching the sunset, which was magical each time. Thanks for making it so great!

A wonderful Unique Homestay accompanied by fabulous weather. This converted chapel is a real treasure with hidden delights. This has been a memory that we will both treasure forever for its peace and serenity.

What a wonderful week we´ve had! An absolute gem of a place, one couldn´t have asked for more! Waking up every morning to that view lifts the spirits... how we will miss it! Thank you again!

Aphrodite really was the perfect place to celebrate a 50th birthday! Thank you so much for the welcome goodies including bubbles. We really enjoyed exploring the coastal path and would like to say a big thank you to everyone, especially the housekeeper, for all your help.

Following the neverending lockdown and Covid-crisis over the last year, this was our much-needed escape. Aphrodite did not disappoint! The views! Beautifully decorated with everything you could wish for, cosy log fire, candles, throws, deep bath, comfy bed and the extras of the welcome hamper and robes! We are reluctantly going home, but relaxed and very happy. Thank you.

Just wanted to say a huge thank you to your team for making it so effortless to stay at Aphrodite. We had a fabulous time in this lovely, spacious property in a beautiful location. It was truly relaxing. Just what we needed after the last year! We will be back!

We very much enjoyed every moment of our stay at Aphrodite and were blown away by its beauty, elegance, charm and character. From taking hot baths by candlelight to enjoying drinks by the crackling fire, we concluded our stay feeling refreshed and rejuvenated. Although the weather was mostly rainy, we were lucky to experience some periods of sunshine, during which we enjoyed picturesque walks along the coast. We sincerely look forward to our next stay.

What a place! After all the strangeness of the last few months, Aphrodite has felt like an oasis. The view, the building itself and the walks straight from the front door are all fabulous. We feel very lucky to have been able to stay here.

Aphrodite has been on our Unique Homestays to do list for a while, so my winter birthday seemed like the perfect excuse... What a place! Touches of Santorini, shabby chic and ecclesiastical heritage all rolled into one! We mostly stayed in, curled up by the fire, watching the lambs and listening to the howl of the wind! Thank you for a gorgeous stay.

Relaxing, beautiful, and the best ´therapy´ to get away from work. Aphrodite has stunning views and the interior is just lovely. We absolutely love the Sonos sound system and we want one for our home now! We had a lovely time here and we will be back for sure.

We had such a lovely time here. Aphrodite is such a unique and characterful property, converted and decorated so beautifully and sensitively. We especially loved the living room and watching the changing colours of the sunset to the crackling and purring accompaniment of the fire. Spring is the perfect time to visit - long walks on coastal routes by day, and returning to the welcome embrace of Aphrodite. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us.

We absolutely loved our stay in Aphrodite and can´t wait to go there again, as well as explore more of your properties. Everyone we spoke to over the phone from Unique Homestays has been charming, helpful and a joy to deal with. We have already recommended Unique Homestays to all our friends and have told them all about our memorable, happy stay in Aphrodite!

We had a lovely time at Aphrodite, it was a fantastic location, perfect for visiting Boscastle and Tintagel! The property was beautiful and so comfortable. We have now enjoyed visiting several of the Unique Homestays properties and we look forward to booking our next one in the New Year!

What an absolutely perfect little cottage. Everything has been so carefully and beautifully thought through to make staying here both cosy and luxurious. We have had a really lovely relaxing few days here, we wish we could have stayed for longer. It is a beautiful part of the county and we feel lucky to have been able to stay here.

The perfect honeymoon! We really really really do not want to leave! We have had the most amazing time, it was so relaxing after a very busy time in our lives. The view is spectacular and we have spent every opportunity gazing out of the window. Highlights of our trip include Polzeath beach and Crackington Haven (and of course Boscastle). Thank you so much, you really do have a very special place here.

We had an amazing week. We were both exhausted from work and are leaving feeling human and revived. We explored far and wide and loved every corner of North Cornwall. The biggest revelation was Boscastle itself - just magical! The food at the farm shop was the best we had all week. The terrace across the road from the chapel was the perfect place to have a drink on a sunny day with the sheep observing us and the magnificent views amazing us. Thank you!

Cornwall is a special place for us where we took our first holiday together and where we went after our wedding. We now come here to celebrate the 5 year anniversary of our first date and this has been our best stay yet. Your house and attention to detail has made spending time here just perfect! Thank you for the champagne. We will be back for sure.

We had a wonderful time at Aphrodite, it literally took our breath away when we walked in! There was nothing you hadn’t thought of, we loved all the little touches and will definitely be booking with you in future.

Thank you for a wonderful stay. Aphrodite is the perfect place to spend Christmas. The interiors are beautiful and the unexpected Christmas decorations were magical! We enjoyed lots of lovely walks along the cliffs in Tintagel but mainly spent our time cuddled up in front of the fire watching Netflix. Thank you again for a lovely holiday.

People thought we were mad booking our honeymoon in the middle of November in Cornwall. How wrong they were. This place is simply outstanding, a truly magical winter retreat. What´s better than cuddling by the fire after a cliffside walk, lunch in The Nap and mulled cider down in Boscastle?! The little extra´s you added just help make the experience all the more special. We will most certainly be back. Thank you.

Our little break before the madness of Christmas descends has been everything we could have wished for. Aphrodite is simply exquisite, where no attention to detail has been overlooked. Our car hasn´t moved and we´ve loved coastal and countryside views with bracing winds, and a bit of sunshine. Our dog Tyla says thank you for his very comfy bed, and so do we. Thank you.

We have had the most relaxing time in this beautiful cottage, great scenery, lovely people and epic walks to be had. Would most certainly recommend this to any want to get away from things. Thank you!

This was our second stay at Aphrodite and as we opened the door to this fabulous gem, we both had grins on our faces, nothing disappoints. We were both exhausted from our house move yet we are once again centred and have regained our zest for life. We just love being in the sea swimming and then coming back to this wonderful sanctuary to warm up, get cozy and completely relax. Thank you.

Bye bye little cottage, bye bye Cornwall. Sideways rain, cold and windy outside, but we are eating cake, drinking tea and watching the world go by up in the snug of the Old Chapel. This is the most magical spot.

What a truly beautiful place this is.The views are amazing! We were lucky enough to do the cliff walk to Boscastle and back on the first morning of out stay in fine, warm weather. Although we have not been out and about as much as we planned, we have really enjoyed our short break here in your beautiful home. Thank you.

We have been here at Aphrodite for our honeymoon with our black (blind) Labrador. The moment we walked into the property we could not believe our eyes, the attention to detail is exquisite. I loved the bed linen so much that I have ordered some ready for when we get home. We live in the countryside so coming here to the beach was a lovely change. It is a magnificent treasure in Cornwall you should be proud. We will recommend and visit again.

Aphrodite was a little bit of heaven! The location was superb and the views were spectacular!! The cottage was full of old world charm but yet still had all of the modern amenities. It far exceeded what we had anticipated. Our first time with Unique Homestays will not be our last.

What an extraordinary retreat you have created here, with so many intriguing nooks and crannies and eclectic decor details to discuss and enjoy. We have absolutely loved every minute of our week here, creating some very special memories to treasure for years to come! As lovers of the coastal path, this beautiful converted chapel was the perfect respite to return home to every evening and enjoy the comfort of being snug and wrapped in luxury, while the stormy winds made themselves known in the outside world.

What a wonderful way to see in 2017. Thank you for a really great stay. We celebrated our engagement and could have not asked for a more romantic and gorgeous setting. The Chapel is truly unique and we hope to be back. We walked around 22 miles on the best coastal paths in the UK.

Thank you for a fantastic stay in your very lovely home. We could sit and look at the beautiful views all day long. We do not want to go home, but we are feeling very refreshed and recharged.

What a lovely conversion! A lovely place with fantastic views and the coastal path is near too. Even in February it is beautiful. Thank you for a lovely presented home from home.

This property is truly unique and is a romantic dream to stay in. Stunning views and breathtaking sunsets, exquisite decor and more. We loved every minute of our time in Aphrodite

Aphrodite is without a doubt the most beautiful and comfortable dwelling we have ever stayed in. We loved the décor - inspirational! The views are mesmerising and the peace of the place is just what we needed. Thank you Unique Homestays for a very memorable honeymoon.
