From the owner
“Montana is our ‘grown-up’ modern day tree-house! Set in an enchanting wooded valley yet only a ramble away from Lyme Regis - a World Heritage Site on the Jurassic coastline - this is our place to escape and kick back amidst an amazing wildlife-ensconced setting.”

Montana was built in June 2014 after an 8-month renovation project by award-winning architects. Set in an area designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, we think it is situated in the most beautiful location in Dorset and Devon.
The house provides an open-plan living environment with full access to the stunning views; the living rooms and bedrooms afford unrivalled views of the dramatic valley, huge sliding glazed doors open up the living space to a large timber decked area, and there are even long linear windows in the showers so that you can look at the landscape and sky while you shower!
There are some beautiful walks from the doorstep of the house, taking you through Harcombe Bottom, Dragon's Hill, Horseman's Hill, and Furze Hill Plantation down into Lyme Regis.
The house has been enjoyed by children, family and friends, who have all loved the cycling, walking, relaxing, and simply enjoying Lyme Regis and the local pubs and restaurants. Everyone loves the location; the ever-changing fir tree views and the abundance of wildlife and birds in the wild gardens.

Guest Testimonials
Having just returned back home, I just wanted to say what a wonderful weekend stay we had at Montana to celebrate a special birthday - over far too quickly. The house is divine and the setting beautiful, even on one of the wettest days for a long time, constant rain for 14 hours! Jenga and card games kept us all amused against the dramatic backdrop of the atmospheric, misty view. The owners deserve all of the accolades that have been given in the visitor´s book. Well done, we would love to return one day.
Sensational! We´ve never felt so pampered. The attention to detail from the design and build of Montana to every fixture and fitting is amazing. Not forgetting the gorgeous view!
The property layout was perfect for a group of friends to cook, eat and chat without being in separate rooms. The large glass doors onto the lovely private terrace was also a big influence as to why we selected this property, and we spent lots of time just taking in the views! Even when the weather wasn´t good we could all still look outside and not feel shut in.
What a treat to stay for a week in a thoroughly contemporary home. Carefully thought out and put together, with great attention to detail. We would love to try it out in the winter to see how its renewables work. Wonderful site and location with a good range of spaces, in and out for the extended family.
We had a thoroughly brilliant time staying at Montana. We stayed here for a 40th birthday celebration and it definitely served as an outstanding birthday venue. We had several days with gorgeous weather (cold yet sunny), so we managed to visit several stunning locations, just a short drive away. Durdle Door was one of them and it was stunning. On the slightly less sunny days, we went to a local swimming pool, which was great! All in all, we had an absolutely fantastic holiday that will never be forgotten. Thanks for providing a superb venue.
