Truly the most magical place I have ever stayed. We managed to totally unwind and reset in the most perfect setting there is. Grateful for the opportunity to have stayed in such a special place. We will be back.

Had a wonderful long weekend. We wish we could have stayed longer. Lovely cabin, every detail created to make you feel at home. Very clean and tidy. Great walks from the door of a short drive. Had a great meal at the Bull´s Head and the Felin Fach.

Thank you for another wonderful stay here at The Black Cabin! We loved coming back to this beautiful place, with its incredible views, thoughtful decor and interiors and exteriors, and proximity to Hay-on-Wye. We all thoroughly enjoyed our restful stay.

Wow what can we say? Even better than we expected. The house is lovely, great taste, everything you could possibly want and really cosy. Then we have the garden with the multiple seating areas to make the most of the gorgeous views, the outside lounging, hot tub, fire pits, just fantastic. And lastly the photos of the views don’t do it justice. So glad we chose to stay in the UK for our 10th wedding anniversary. It was just what we needed and it was perfect for our two French bulldogs. Lastly, thank you for all the vegan and sustainable products that was a really special touch.

Our second stay at The Black Cabin and another magical week had. Such a special corner of the planet! Lots of star gazing, moon bathing, breath-taking walks, yummy pub lunches, fires and big sleeps were had. Sunrises and sunsets to die for and the wolf super moon an added bonus. Not to mention the snow which coated everything in a cloak of quiet wonder! Thank you for letting us share it!

We have spent the most amazing week here for Christmas, and it was the best we´ve ever had. Amazing views, decor, outdoor amenities, and the sauna wow! Everything has been thought out and designed perfectly. Thank you for our champagne and truffles, they went down a treat! We will be returning soon!

Lovely stay! Beautiful walks up to the common, loads of little lambs that we nearly took home. Green egg, hot tub, sauna, we tried it all and loved it all. A lovely, special, and peaceful home to combine relaxing and adventuring in. Thank you.

Arriving in the snow to this most beautiful home from home, The Black Cabin. Watching the sun rise over the mountains, the gorgeous little birds feeding off the hawthorn tree and the sheep wandering in their most special surroundings. Thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful home, and for looking after us so perfectly. Every detail has been so appreciated and loved, a very special place in such a naturally beautiful spot.

If there is such a thing as the definition of a "Unique Homestay," for us it would be The Black Cabin. "Unique," because of the unparalleled 365-degree unspoiled views and total tranquillity. The only sounds we heard were a woodpecker or a squirrel dropping hazelnut shells onto the roof. And "Homestay" because we felt at home immediately. The icing on the cake was that the entire property is fenced, allowing our boy Tony to explore by himself.

Many thanks for a relaxing, restful and blissful stay at The Black Cabin. We loved making the most of all the cabin has to offer, especially the incredible bath tub! And the green egg, which my husband absolutely loved BBQing on whatever the weather! Our stay was the perfect way to spend our last holiday as a couple before we welcome our baby girl in May! We hope to come back with her one day, appreciate the beautiful views, decor, and detail of this very special place!

A beautiful hide-away in the woods. Just what we needed, a special place away from the craziness of life. A time to reset and recharge. The weather was windy, rainy, misty, foggy, dark and sleety and we were in the warm of the glow from the wood burner sipping wine with fluffy socks on! This place offers cosiness and views to get lost in. We were able to read and walk (a little)! We ate at The Fish Fach, The Walnut Tree and The Blue Bear. We appreciated the hamper and doggie treats, beds and blankets - lovely touches!

We have had an amazing stay. Everything is just perfect. The views, decor, welcome perks, and so much more - just beautiful. Walks are just breathtaking. We will be back.

We had the most amazing time here for our third wedding anniversary. Got caught here in ´Storm Bram,´ but it was so cosy and lovely we were happily tucked up for the day! Gorgeous walks, landscapes, and food! We recommend Falin Fach, Triggs at The Mill, and Origin Pizza!

This property was just beautiful and so well equipped. Even the china and cutlery were just beautiful! But what makes this place is the landscape around it and how cleverly the cabin is set into it with so many beautiful places to sit and take the view outside. Just stunning.
