Seaglass
Tregonhawke, Whitsand Bay, Cornwall, UK
Fusing effortless elegance with simple seaside style, this unique bijou beach house in Cornwall truly lets the landscape sing. Seaglass enjoys one of the largest footprints of all the beach huts on Tregonhawke cliff, in tiered gardens that spill down towards Whitsand Bay and the shimmering ocean beyond. With a yoga deck, hot tub and green credentials galore, this sustainable home is the perfect self-catering hideaway for those wanting to romance by the sea.
Introduction
Seaglass occupies an enviable cliffside position overlooking Whitsand Bay with completely uninterrupted ocean views to the west, making it feel as though you are on the edge of the world. Difficult as it may be to leave, don’t miss a visit to the nearby twin towns of Cawsand and Kingsand to sample the freshest local seafood landed on the harbour just that morning. Winding back along the east Cornwall coastal road, upon return, snuggle up by the woodburner with a glass of red and an old romantic film playing quietly in the background.
Inside
After breakfast in bed, roll back the bi-fold doors in the living room, let the salty air wash over you and take in 180-degree panoramas across the bay; there's simply no better start to the day here at Seaglass. Flaunting a surprisingly spacious open-plan design, couples or solo travellers can sink into luxury, distracted only by the views. The shower room is a small but luxury space in which to freshen up, but after a day on the beach, nothing will beat rinsing salty bodies under a twinkly night sky in the steaming outdoor shower.
Outside
This luxury beach house has a large deck and enclosed sloping gardens, perfect for catching the Cornish sunshine as it oscillates throughout the day. A clamber down the coastpath on your doorstep will land you on the long stretch of golden beach at Whitsand Bay. The beauty of the mini outdoor spa area means al fresco beach life can be enjoyed any time of year. Whilst perfect for sunset watching and dolphin spotting in summertime, the hot tub is equally as dreamy in winter. Hopscotch over the frosty garden and sink under the bubbles as brooding clouds hang over the sea.

From the owner
“This is a place of contrast, constant change and beauty and is at the heart of Cornish coastal life. We feel extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to create this home in such a wonderful place and we have tried to keep it at one with its surroundings.”

When looking for the right property, we were blown away by the tranquillity and stunning coastal location of Seaglass. The ever-changing weather on the cliff seems to paint so many different pictures, each so beautiful and unique in its own special way.
Unsurprisingly, there is an abundance of stunning wildlife surrounding the beach house and so much of it can be seen from the comforts of the sofa! We see such an array of birds, from kestrels to buzzards scouring the cliffs, to reed buntings and skylarks amongst the grasses. Looking out to sea watching the cartoon-like gannets diving into the sea like bullets is truly a sight to behold.
Seals and dolphins are also a common sight and previous guests have seen regular sightings of the large black fin of the basking shark. We have put a set of binoculars in the wooden chest for guests to get a better view of some of these stunning creatures!
