Bohemian cottage walk in dressing room, Cornwall

Nestling in Cornwall’s Lizard Peninsula, Siren enjoys a sleepy hideaway corner of Coverack; a pretty coastal village with a whimsical charm. This boho-chic luxury cottage is just as romantic for artists and writers as it is for honeymooners wanting to escape it all. Not far from the famous Cornish coves of Cadgwith and Kynance, Siren’s style is an amalgamation of vintage glamour and bohemian free-spiritedness, offering the idyllic beachside haven for gypsetter-types.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

The king-size master has a sultry vibe including inky floors, lacy window drapes and golden hues. A deep night’s sleep is guaranteed under the gaze of the exotic vixen on the wall and the hypnotising sound of the waves. The dressing room, complete with easel and writing desk, is perfect for those who want to settle in and stay a while. You may even catch a glimpse of the dolphins as you fix your hair and ponder over what to wear. The ground floor bathroom features a clawfoot bath that is sure to have you slip into holiday mode.

The friendly hub of the village is set up the road offering a local shop, ice cream parlour, church, art gallery and a handful of eateries. Hidden in 'Sunny Corner', Siren is just a gentle amble away from Coverack's gorgeous sandy beach, so morning jogs along the shoreline and long coastal walks ending at a Cornish pub are a must. The pretty cottage gardens offer a dramatic setting for al fresco dining. Following a dip in the sea before sunset, fry up a fish supper and watch the stars begin to pinprick the sky from the comfort of your private beachside cottage retreat.

There is no escaping the holiday vibe at Siren; from walking barefoot along the beach below to reading in the garden and cranking up the radio for happy hour at the cottage’s own cocktail bar. Coral pink sofas and a gold palm tree lamp give the sitting room a cool, Club Tropicana vibe which projects the warmth of a midsummer's day no matter how stormy the seas are outside. The deep window seat is the best spot to sit and watch the waves, with the log burner crackling in the background and a Long Island Iced Tea in hand.

Siren is well equipped and has an electric Aga oven, microwave, fridge with freezer drawer, combined washing machine and dryer. The cottage is warmed by central heating and a log burner. While you are able to drop bags at the gate, parking is in the harbour and village car parks, just a few minutes' walk away.

There’s something very special about Siren that is difficult to put into words. The village and the cottage itself have a captivating nature which make it difficult to leave. I’m so pleased that others are able to share this special place too.

Out & About

Discover places to see and things to do whilst in and around Coverack Cove, Cornwall to truly enhance your stay come rain or shine!

On Foot Spend a day stomping the well-trodden Cornish cliff paths and take in the dramatic views across Coverack, Cadgwith Cove, Poldhu Cove, Kynance Cove and onto Lizard Point, the most southerly point on mainland Britain. Make sure you stop by Ann's Pasty Shop on the Lizard to grab a huge, traditional pasty - beware they are so delicious there is usually a long queue around the corner in the summer, so get there early!

Wild Swimming The secluded beauty of this stunning peninsula makes for sensational al fresco dips. The area is peppered with hidden coves and bays which are yearning to be discovered. Most noteworthy in nearby Cadgwith Cove is the Devil's Frying Pan; a collapsed cave where the sea flows through a narrow arch at high tide – not for the faint hearted!

Flower Finding A visit in spring or summertime is sure to inspire naturalists, when the hedgerows become alive with wildflowers including foxgloves, honeysuckle, campion and sea thrift. Those with a keener interest in floriculture might be able to spot some of the rarer breeds that thrive within the Lizard’s mild micro-climate. Head to Cross Common Exotic Plant nursery to purchase your very own unusual plant to bring a little slice of Cornwall home with you (or have them delivered to your door)!

ForeMullion Golf Club on the Lizard Peninsula is not only the most southerly course in England but one of the most beautiful in the West Country. Framed by sandy coves and protected reed beds, the course (now well past its centenary) has always attracted the literary giants who not only enjoyed the golf but were also fascinated by the ambience.

Seal's Eye View There are numerous beaches and coves to explore not far from the doorstep, bringing plenty of opportunities for surfing and sailing. Launch off the coast from a kayak hired from Coverack's watersports centre just a stone's throw from the cottage and see the wildlife from a completely unique viewpoint, meandering in and out of the hidden inlets and sea caves.

Nearest Beach: Coverack Cove beach is just down the road, a few minutes’ walk away.

The blue and white kitchen looks out over the sea and makes cooking a dream. The small cream Aga (city folk needn't fear as this one is electric) along with Belfast sink means you won't need to leave the cottage but to get some essentials, and there's never a farm shop far away when on holiday in Cornwall. Even better, find a roadside stall selling freshly baked cakes, runner beans and juicy strawberries.

In-House Cuisine

If you'd rather spend your self-catering break indulging in the little luxuries, let an in-house chef prepare a mouth-watering meal for you (on prior request and subject to an additional cost).

Eating Out

Coverack is scattered with quaint restaurants and cafés all flaunting fabulous sea views. Amble down to The Old Lifeboat House or visit Archie's Loft for delicious picnic lunches before popping into the Paris inn for a pint of local ale. Be sure to visit the harbour town of Porthleven, an increasingly popular foodie destination or book a table at The Greenhouse Restaurant in nearby St Keverne, a modern bistro serving delicious food.
