Introduction 

With it's wild coastline, fascinating mining history and four stunning dog-friendly beaches, the wonderfully quaint village of St Agnes is one of Cornwall’s best and is featured heavily in the the Poldark novels. The Sea Cabin is splendidly set on the South West Coast Path in the heart of Trevaunance Cove, overlooking the beach. Stylish city folk and surf lovers can well and truly escape the city with a luxury cottage with a private roof terrace view to rival any in Chelsea.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

With a pared back boho-coastal interior, if it's tranquility you seek then the Sea Cabin exudes just that. The adjacent shower room, complete with luxurious raninfall shower, is just perfect for soaking salty, sun-kissed bodies after a day on the beach; pure bliss before tumbling into your king-size bed for deep, dream-filled slumber.

Outside

Take an ancient Cornish village, add a thriving community spirit, four stunning dog-friendly beaches, perfect surf, a sprinkling of charming pubs and you have St Agnes. With the coast path on the doorstep, a ramble to the iconic engine house ruins (or Poldark’s 'Nampara Valley') towards Chapel Porth is a must. Pass vibrant banks of heather, ferns and golden gorse on this spectacular stretch of coastline bordering the ocean.

For Relaxation

Pad up the garden steps to reach the Sea Cabin's private roof terrace, where the sound of the waves provide the most blissful space for a morning stretch and freshly brewed coffee. Let the sea air and warm sun tickle your skin as Cornwall casts its magical spell of calm over you. After a day's adventuring on the coast, look forward to a sunset picnic or local pub supper with a little walk back through the charming village of St Agnes lined with old cottages and boutique shops.

Practicalities

Guests can unload luggage and park below in the local private car park before moving their car to Reppers Coombe for free parking during their stay; Your car registration number is required for this. The kitchen includes an electric fan oven with hob, dishwasher and fridge with freezer drawer. There is no washing machine or tumble dryer.

Coastal Stomps The glorious South West Coast Path passes right by the front door, so whether you fancy a gentle amble from pub to pub, or a proper cross-country ramble, the best way to make the most of this unique location is on foot!

Surf's Up Try your hand at surfing with expert-run lessons at the lifeguard-manned Trevaunance Cove, just a hop, skip and jump away. For a large, sandy beach, head north to Perranporth beach which runs into the quieter Penhale Sands.

Poldark Filming Location Explore Poldark’s hauntingly beautiful filming locations whilst staying at the Sea Cabin. The area just over the hill was used to represent the Nampara Valley (part of Ross Poldark’s family estate). The engine houses perched on the cliff edge at St Agnes Head is an iconic landmark and gives a sense of the scale of the mining industry in Cornwall during the golden years.

Cider Farm Charm Take a tour around the local cider farm where heritage craft and innovation happily combine. Enjoy a tractor ride through the farm in the sunshine, learn how the talented artisans make their infamous Rattler (named so because of the sting in the tail!) and learn all about a traditional Cornish cider farm in the museum.

Truro Tour Cornwall’s ancient capital; this small but trendy city is rich in history and at the heart is a stunning three-spired 19th century cathedral. Lose yourself on Lemon Street admiring local art boutiques and gorgeous Georgian architecture.

FOOD AND DRINK

Home-Cooked

The little kitchen has all the mod cons, pots, pans and utensils needed for your gourmet seaside escape. There is a greengrocer in the village, along with two butchers, a bakery and some wonderfully quaint cafes, so it's easy to grab the essentials. Etherington Meats in Redruth and Trevaskis Farm in Hayle are worth a trip for the best of Cornish farm produce.

If you'd rather spend your luxury beach break indulging in the little luxuries, let an in-house chef prepare a mouth-watering meal for your partner (on prior request and subject to an additional cost). 

Eating Out

Within walking distance, the Taphouse in St Agnes village; serving up fresh, local food. In the cove across from the Sea Cabin is the Driftwood Inn which has three cosy bars with wood burners as well as their seafood bistro, open Thursday and Friday nights from Easter to October. Nearby Truro offers a larger selection of eateries including Hooked, Falmouth bay seafood cafe and Mannings for a relaxed lunch or supper.
