The Flower Press | Luxury Self-Catering Cottage | Arlington Row

Emerald green in spring and fire red in autumn, creeper-clad cottage The Flower Press is a restful self-catering retreat nestled in the welcoming arms of quintessential Bibury. Snow-white walls, candelabras, chandeliers and vibrant gardens brimming with anemones bring a feel of modern-day Provence to this gorgeous old Cotswold manse.

The Flower Press in the Cotswolds

Once the vicarage for England’s most beautiful village, now a romantic self-catering retreat hidden behind ancient apple trees and iron gates, The Flower Press is a soothing and harmonious home in which to escape the busyness of modern life. Whitewashed furnishings, glimmering antiques and stone fireplaces run throughout while muted tones calm the senses and soften the soul. There's a wonderfully outfitted kitchen for food aficionados, a boutique library for thumbing through the owner's book collection and a bathroom that calls out to honeymooners! Perfectly placed for wandering picturesque Bibury and the rolling Cotswold hills, spend days in hiking boots and nights curled up by the smouldering woodburner.

Bedrooms and Bathrooms

The master bedroom, with super king-size bed, was designed with lovebirds and lazy mornings in mind. Next door is the large family bathroom complete with slipper bath tub, shower and his ‘n’ hers vanity sinks. The second bedroom sits down a small flight of stairs and has a double sleigh bed and en suite shower room. There is one further WC on the ground floor.

Start the day sipping tea beneath the apple blossoms before popping croissants in the oven and indulging in an al fresco breakfast on the ornate French bistro set. Arlington Row, one of Britain’s most iconic sights, is just a short stroll from the front door while the streets and lanes of Bibury offer the perfect opportunity for snacking on scones laden with jam and toasted tea cakes thick with butter.  On return, sip wine in the warm dusk light of the rear courtyard, where a sheltered dining area provides a private spot for late night musings.

For Relaxation

Nearby Cirencester, a medieval town settled on the banks of the River Churn, embodies the very essence of Cotswold life. Cobbled streets lined with boutique eateries, caves of wonder filled with antiques and of course, tea rooms en masse to satisfy every sweet tooth and rumbling belly. If one simply cannot stomach any more cake, the hills, gardens and castles of Gloucester offer fresh country air, heart-racing hikes and the most gorgeous rural views imaginable.

There is parking on the gated drive for two cars. The catering-style cottage kitchen is equipped with a Siemens electric fan oven and five-ring hob, large fridge-freezer and dishwasher. There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer in the utility room.
