The owner greeted us with a really warm welcome and was a pleasure to deal with. Mirana was such a lovely property, spotlessly clean and with everything we could wish for during our stay. The natural swimming pool is absolutely beautiful. We sat for hours watching the butterflies and dragonflies. There are lots of lovely places to visit and good restaurants and cafes within a shortish drive. Unique Homestays were very professional and informative. Thank you for making the whole experience such a pleasure.
We have had such a lovely time. The house is exceptional, the pool is out of this world, fantastic, gorgeous in such a beautiful setting! Thank you for opening up your home!

Mirana
Constantine, Helford, Cornwall, UK
Mirana emerges from the wooded purlieus of the Helford River as if the National Landscape itself formed shelter. Serene and harmonious, the 200-year-old weathered barns now stand as an architectural retreat where Cornish stone meets modernist glass. Dwelling and nature blur at this luxury hideaway, complete with a hot tub, Finnish sauna, and a swimming pond that mirrors the play of light through ancient beech leaves. Read more...

Inside
Earth plaster and tadelakt walls throughout maintain serenity and continuity, amplified by the open-plan living space. Expansive glass panes transform the landscape into living artwork, bathing Mirana in warm luminescence that dances off neutral furnishings. In the kitchen, pale wood synchronises with milky marble, anchored by a slatted island that commands attention. A sculptural pendant light, echoing the gnarled orchard trees outside, casts gentle radiance over the dining table, while olive trees in terracotta pots bring Mediterranean flair. Bedrooms are havens where floor-to-ceiling windows bring garden to bedside.
Outside
A natural swimming pond slashes a geometric emerald against russet gravel, inviting morning plunges and midnight dips. Sun loungers perch at its edge, their clean lines a counterpoint to the wild tangle of marginal vegetation, while beneficial plants cleanse the water and maintain the ecosystem's balance. Watch iridescent dragonflies skim across the surface, spot yellow wagtails pausing for a drink and perhaps even catch a glimpse of a newt. A wood-fired hot tub and Finnish sauna offer year-round relaxation in grounds that meld into the wilderness. Nearby, explore the 13th-century village of Constantine and Helford River's hidden coves.
Two double bedrooms feature a king-size bed and zip-and-link bed respectively, complemented by a family shower room and an outdoor shower outside the second bedroom.

“We created this haven to bring people closer to nature, where peace can be found in the simplest momentsfrom dawn chorus to evening starlight. After 12 years in this valley, we still find magic here every day, embraced by the wild Cornish landscape we call home. ”
We have lived in the valley for 12 years and cherish our rural seclusion. What was once a series of barns has been transformed over two years by talented craftspeople using local materials wherever possible.
The original stone barn, dating back to the 1820s, is constructed from stone found on sitea slate-like mudstone common in Cornish vernacular buildings. Our aim was to create a tranquil space anchored in the natural world; a place to promote wellbeing, cocooned in nature.
We're situated within a National Landscape and border ancient woodland, so the property plays host to a stunning variety of wildlife. Yellow wagtails and kingfishers visit the swimming pond, while deer browse the fields. On summer evenings at dusk, you may see pipistrelle bats on their nightly foraging expeditions.
At certain times of year, you'll hear the calls of tawny owls and occasionally barn owls. Swallows nest in the nearby barns, and in midsummer, glow worms can sometimes be seen in the paddock beside the house.
