We totally loved this house. It´s fantastic for a group as there are many spaces to go to so you aren´t all on top of each other. The location was fantastic and Looe is a lovely short walk on the beach or coastal path. I was very sad to leave!
Hats off to the owners and to the Unique Homestays team who have thought of everything - from kitchen appliances to quick-drying towels for outdoor use. We really enjoyed our time at the incredible property.
We loved our stay at Amaia. Very beautiful property in a spectacular location. We would absolutely love to return!! We loved spending time around the fire pit and relaxing in the sunken hot tub, what a complete treat!
The house is amazing and the grounds were outstanding. We loved it so much and our disabled son just roamed the gardens with a big smile on his face. Walking down to the private beach in the morning was just the icing on the cake. We are going to look to book again next year. It is the best property we have stayed in ever!

Introduction
Built to ship-style stature clinging to the Cornish cliffs, Amaia’s expansive sea views dominate the light, colour and atmosphere which flows throughout; a different home with each rushing thundercloud or ray of sun. Made with togetherness in mind, the modern light-filled kitchen calls for chatter over seafood platters and fizzing Champagne, while sunny ochres and inky greys combine to reflect the coast’s ever-changing palette. Whether it’s dawn dips on your privately owned beach or hot tub sundowners, this luxury self-catering escape will see you returning year on year.
Inside
A house as perfect for celebratory dinner parties that extend long into the night as soft, slow mornings under heavy blankets, Amaia is both restorative and invigorating; ready to fall in with the tempo of the day’s agenda, whatever that may be. Three spacious floors, all with enormous windows, welcome seamless inside-outside family living. Along with the open-plan living spaces which lead out onto the wraparound deck, there's an atmospheric library which invites adventures into other worlds, a cinema room for movie nights, and five en suite bedrooms with front row views of the waves for dream-filled slumbers of pirate ships and mermaids.
Outside
Amaia offers a serene sense of isolation with little to disturb aside from the gentle ebb and flow of the tide. Over an acre of sub-tropical gardens zig-zag down the cliff to Plaidy Beach meaning that, whether frolicking in the waves or dozing with toes in the sand, seaside living is easy. After racing back to the house to rinse off in the al fresco shower, light up the fire pit to toast your toes and seek out shooting stars. However tempting it is to stay put, one must explore the pretty coastal villages of Looe and Polperro, where higgledy-piggledy lanes spill towards the water’s edge and lively taverns burst with raucous laughter long into the night.
There are five en suite double bedrooms situated across two floors of Amaia. There is a separate WC found on the middle floor.

Looe
A quaint coastal town hidden at the bottom of a lush valley, Looe is packed to the brim with nostalgia. Straddling a river that leads to the sea, think fresh seafood, soft-whip ice cream and plenty of cosy pubs sporting roaring fires.

Getting there
- On the map Amaia sits just above Plaidy Beach on Cornwall's south coast near Looe, just four miles from pretty Polperro.
- By car This luxury beach house is located around two and a half hours from Bristol and four and three-quarter hours from central London.
- By train The two closest train stations are Bodmin Parkway, which is around 30 minutes drive away, and Plymouth at 40 minutes drive away.
- By air Bristol International Airport is just under two and a half hours away, while Newquay airport, with regular flights from London, is just under an hours' drive.

“The breathtaking, far-reaching views from every room in the house stretching out across the ocean make this house extra-special.”
The sea-facing position of Amaia means you have a front-row seat to nature, in all weathers, at all times of the day: it is quite simply awe-inspiring to watch the sea shift and change from one moment to the next. In the evenings, curling up to watch the moon bounce off the glittering black waves below is highly recommended.
Outside, we have curated a mature Mediterranean garden, designed to hold pockets of surprises. It is a space of peace and tranquillity with a sense of privacy and a closeness to nature. Even if you visit as a large group, you are guaranteed to feel secluded here.
At low tide, you can stroll down to our beach and over to the next, exploring rock pools and caves along the way. Whereas at high tide, you can brave the chill and swim across or take a paddleboard down with you to explore this stretch of coastline.
However, our favourite way to start the day here is to pad out of bed, grab a coffee and take it out onto the decking to watch the morning light, creating a sense of serenity that carries through until nightfall.
It's just just magical, inside and out.
