Absolute perfection! No one wanted to leave, so pleased we booked the whole week. Many happy memories to take away. A brilliant location with gorgeous views all around. A seaside escape which is the perfect spot to rest and unwind.
Such a beautiful place to stay! Stunning views and luxury accommodation made our stay unforgettable. The perfect mix or relaxation and adventure! Lovely home, lovely holiday!
It was a beautiful property that we all loved, even the dog! The location was perfect being so close to the sea and everything that we needed. The property boasted fantastic views, which was great when watching the stormy waves from the comfort of the living room. Absolutely loved this property.
We had a fantastic few days at The Viewing Gallery. It was the perfect getaway for our family of five plus a dog. Nice, short stomp down the hill to the beach and cafe, very thoughtful welcome pack, and key food items on arrival. The views are simply stunning and waking up to the sound of waves crashing was so good for the soul. Thank you!
The Viewing Gallery is an absolutely first class house in a stunning location and is very well appointed. This was our second stay with Unique Homestays and it would be hard to beat!
It was utterly breathtaking, we canīt fault it at all. The house is wonderfully well equipped and it was an absolutely perfect week. We would love to know where the super comfy leather chair in the lounge comes from!
We had a fantastic time staying at The Viewing Gallery. On our arrival, my new wife Helen actually cried because she was so happy! The views were beautiful (we must have spent hours just staring out to sea), and the house itself was very well equipped with high quality furnishings and fittings. We had a wonderful week and we´re sad to leave! We would definitely love to come back at some time in the not too distant future.
Could not have asked for more. Beautiful home with stunning views and blessed with great weather. There is something for everyone. We have been lucky over the years to have stayed in some beautiful homes but The Viewing Gallery surpasses all we have visited in the past. Totally relaxed and at peace with the world.
Wonderful home, beautifully maintained. Peaceful, everything you want for a relaxing break. The perfect location for a glass of wine whilst watching the surfers and the world go by... Thank you!
Wonderful property, we could not fault a thing. Itīs been a while since Iīve vacationed in a UK home and didnīt know what to expect, but everything we could require was provided and the property absolutely exceeded expectations.
The property is absolutely fantastic - a fabulous location, made the most of by the spectacular panoramic windows. The property was extremely well equipped and prepared for our arrival, I canīt fault it at all.
We had a lovely time at The Viewing Gallery and we were very sad to leave. The property really is located in the most awesome location overlooking the sea. We were lulled to sleep by the sound of the waves and woke to the most amazing view. It was so peaceful and rejuvenating and we have both returned feeling so much better for our break, just very very sad now that it is over!
Just amazing....Can´t wait to go back! And we will definitely be returning! Absolutely amazing property in an amazing location! We´ve not stopped grinning all week! The Viewing Gallery
Portreath, Cornwall, UK
Panoramic views from every room and luxe-nautical design aesthetics make The Viewing Gallery the quintessential beach house for a new kind of traditional family holiday by the sea. This contemporary home, set between the popular hubs of St Ives and St Agnes, has a covetable position on the north coast of Cornwall overlooking Portreath Beach; and with a hot tub and sublime wraparound deck, it feels a little bit like a movie set. Introduction
Experience life on the ocean wave without leaving the safety of the shore or the hot tub. At The Viewing Gallery, guests can live the coastal dream in utter seclusion: watch for seals in the surf, sip coffee with enviable views over the surfing beach below, or take to the water on a hired sailing boat for a seafaring dose of "main character energy". After hours at the beach, there's no better way to recount the day's adventures than with a feast on the terrace; think French sticks slathered in Cornish butter, local lobster grilled on the barbecue, and bowls of fresh leafy salads devoured as the sun sets over Portreath.
Inside
Come here for Southern-style living overlooking Portreath in a home that looks a lot like a scene from The Notebook. Beautifully framing the outside seascapes through enormous windows, The Viewing Gallery hangs the ocean as artwork; open up the enormous bi-fold windows to the prairie-style wraparound deck in summer, or snuggle up by the woodburner with a hot chocolate to storm watch in the midwinter. Oozing modernity, this handsome clifftop beach house is the antidote to city living: think nautical portholes next to built-in bunk beds, and seascape canvases made by the owners' daughter.
Outside
The Viewing Gallery occupies an enviable location overlooking Portreath beach, just a short walk down (and a steep walk back!) to the characterful inns and cafes which pepper this old harbour town. If you can pull yourself away from the gardens and sun-drenched terrace, the Tramway Coast to Coast Trail from Portreath to Devoran is one of the most pleasant ways to explore the area. Favourite foodie haunt St Ives is just a half hour drive away with its selection of acclaimed eateries, whilst no visit to Portreath is complete without trying a proper Cornish pasty from Portreath Bakery.
The viewing Gallery has four bedrooms in total, one double, two twins and a zip-and-link bedroom. The bedrooms share use of the family shower room and the family bathroom.

“We had been looking for a while for the perfect property anywhere in the UK but in our hearts, we knew we really wanted it to be in Cornwall. Not just for us but for our three children who had their own wishlists!”
Trundling down Green Lane, that glimpse of the sea framed by greenery and the excitement starts to build. A little further and we arrived. From the moment we walked into the lounge we could not take our eyes off the mesmerising panoramic sea view, and we knew this was what we had been waiting for.
From lazy days on the sun loungers to relaxing in the hot tub with a glass or two. Take a short walk down to the beach or a cliff top walk to blow the cobwebs away. It is a place that has special memories for us as we often holidayed in Portreath, and somehow has an immediate calming effect as soon as we cross the county border.
We hope you find The Viewing Gallery as special as we do! The views, the light, the spacious interiors and the great access to nearby hot-spots make it the perfect self-catering family retreat by the sea.
