Lucky enough for this to be our second visit this year. We had a wonderful time, perfect location and a lovely house with all the home comforts. Thank you for making it so welcoming.
Thank you for a lovely stay in this beautiful home. All the little touches didn´t go unnoticed, very thoughtful. Highly recommend welly walks down the lane for those guests with dogs who want an adventure on their own private field. We will certainly return.
What a wonderful week we have had. The house is absolutely beautiful and we have loved spending time here, relaxing and playing games. Long walks, lazy lunches and wrapping up against Storm Darragh. All the little touches were much appreciated. Thank you and see you again soon, we hope.
Thank you so much for a wonderful stay at The Wool Shed, it was amazing. The property is beautiful and we enjoyed it very much. We hope to back in the future and cannot wait to book our next Unique Homestay.
Congratulations Unique Homestays, you made time stand still. We had the most amazing week in The Wool Shed and totally relaxed in the stunning interior design, hot tub evenings, and with walks to the many lovely beaches. Thank you so much to the team who helped us before, during and after our stay. We look forward to coming back in the future.
The Wool Shed is a fabulous property with every amenity we could want for our stay. The house book was a wonderful tool which we referenced throughout and prior to our trip, and made such a difference. The housekeeper went above and beyond, including messaging to let us know the property was ready ahead of arrival time, leaving a thoughtful welcome package, and checking in throughout our stay to ensure we had everything we needed. We felt really taken care of by everyone at Unique Homestays.
Thank you for the most relaxing stay. We enjoyed walking on Watergate Bay beach and exploring Padstow. Lia the Pomeranian loved her bed so much. The cottage was so comfortable, we did not want to leave.
We had to battle through the tail end of Storm Eunice, so it was wonderful to arrive at The Wool Shed and find it be such a cosy home-from-home. You have thought of so many lovely touches to make this a special and memorable place to stay. We especially liked the dog beds and towels which were enjoyed by Lily and Paisley! We come to North Cornwall a lot but were really pleased to discover some new beaches and lovely coastal walks! All in all, a gorgeous holiday.
Thank you for a wonderful stay in this cosy cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Wool Shed. We just loved the food and the most gorgeous sea views at Lewinnick Lodge. There was absolutely nothing to fault our stay, even the wild weather didn´t dampen our spirits! Thank you once again for the wonderful and memorable stay.
We had an amazing stay at The Wool Shed, just what we needed after stressful months of work. We were blessed with amazing weather and enjoyed al fresco dining every night, which we would definitely recommend. The hot tub was used every evening with a lovely fire going, helping us to enjoy the outside for longer. We would definitely return.
What a wonderful week we have had! Amazing weather and accommodation, we have truly enjoyed staying at The Wool Shed. This was our first trip to Cornwall with our dog Buddy and we were delighted that Cornwall offers such a warm welcome to dogs. Crantock and Holywell Bay are a must and the waves at Watergate Bay were fabulous. We will be back!
We´ve had such a wonderful stay here at The Wool Shed. Loved Padstow and all the beaches within the local area. Our dog Baxter had the most fun being silly on the beach.
Our first Unique Homestays holiday and a truly magical visit. After 3 months of lockdown in London following Covid19 restrictions, it was exactly what we needed. We made much use of the fireplace and enjoyed watching birds build a nest in the garden. The local scenery and sunsets are beautiful! We greatly enjoyed Trevilley Farm Shop for creating delicious meals out of local produce. An amazing week and we wish we could stay longer! We will miss the linen bedding and cosy sleeps.
We have thoroughly enjoyed our week here at The Wool Shed. We´ve stayed in many cottages over the years and this is hands down the nicest. All of the little extras were very much appreciated. One of our highlights was a meal at Lusty Glaze; delicious food, great ambience and the doges were made to feel as welcome as we were! We will most definitely be back to Cornwall for another Unique Homestay in the near future.
Thank you for a great stay. The hot tub is amazing and we loved all the artwork on the walls! The decking upstairs is lovely and the fire is great. The kitchen was well stocked and we loved cooking there! We visited Watergate Bay which is fantastic and we had lots of fun exploring the caves. We look forward to coming again!
We had a wonderful stay at The Wool Shed. The decor was a fabulous mix of traditional and trendy and there was plenty of kitchen equipment, we wanted for nothing. The bathrooms were gorgeous and we made good use of the bi- fold doors and garden as we had great weather. The bedding was top quality and altogether we had a fab stay. We’d love to come back, thank you.
We have had a great time here staying in your lovely cottage, exploring the surrounding area which is beautiful. We will be back!
We loved The Wool Shed,it was set in a lovely hamlet and the walks nearby were wonderful. Everything was perfect, the provided store cupboard essentials and the hamper were brilliant - hardly needed to shop! Would definitely come again!
Amazing decor and quality of build. Very pleased we could bring our dog to a luxury cottage as he is very well behaved and other companies have a tendency to discriminate against pets. We have had a perfect holiday and will be using your company again, thank you so very much!
We have had an amazing stay at The Wool Shed. Just what the doctor ordered following a mad 4 weeks! We don´t want to leave this sanctuary, we hope to return again. Thank you
The look of the property really appealed to our sense of style. The enclosed garden was great for our small dogs. We loved the remoteness, the real fire was beautiful in the evenings after a day out. The hamper was a wonderful surprise, the goodies were amazing. It was like Christmas had come early. We loved the thought of local produce being in there. We were like kiddies in a sweetie shop! It was an exceptional touch. Thank you.

An uplifting spot in which to recline, the verdant garden that envelopes this luxury North Cornwall home creates an immersed in nature essence, many an hour will be spent submerged in the hot tub or alfresco cooking. If you're seeking exploration, aside from muddy countryside walks from the doorstep, you're just 10-minutes from the dog-friendly beaches of Watergate Bay and Mawgan Porth.
Inside
The Wool Shed gets back to basics with its hand-crafted and carefully curated interior scheme. There's an industrial edge to the rough-sawn timber and concrete accents, while age-worn leather chairs are adorned with sheepskin rugs and agricultural finds; reflecting the rural setting in which it nestles. A central woodburner sets the scene for the cosiest of winter retreats in this open-plan barn conversion, which is as much a family-friendly domain (there's a ground floor twin room that leads directly into the garden) as it is a romantic retreat for couples. In particular, the main bedroom of this luxury holiday cottage is designed with relaxation in mind.
Outside
Antipodean-inspired living, a wall of sliding glass barn doors embrace the indoor-outdoor theme at The Wool Shed. A private and enclosed cottage garden, with borders brimming with botanicals, from the hot tub to the outdoor stone fire, the garden is a verdant and tranquil space for reflection. Ambient after-dark lighting creates a warm and welcoming glow, while the outdoor fire ensures that you can enjoy this space, blanket at the ready, year-round. Exploring the rolling countryside on foot is a must, and as two dogs are welcome, you can also enjoy discovering many of the nearby dog-friendly beaches of Newquay and Watergate Bay.

“It was integral to create an interior that reflected the history of the barn while retaining a home-from-home feel; a place where every day starts with indulgent lie-ins and ends cosied up around the fire.”
I have many childhood memories of The Wool Shed. To my parents, the barn was a functional farm building - a store house and then later, a piggery. For us wild young things it was the perfect hideout; a place to construct makeshift rope swings, scrutinise the latest bug hunt finds and to daydream about horse riding victories.
When it came to breathing life back into what was a disused and forlorn shed, I wanted, in part, to recreate those carefree days. Turning the dream into reality took a huge amount of patience and perseverance - but it was well worth the effort!
Whilst tearing yourself away from the suntrap garden can be tricky, it's worthwhile heading out on foot from The Wool Shed as there are some stunning countryside and woodland walks to discover; but if you'd rather spend your time with toes in the sand you are a short drive away from Cornwall's finest white sandy beaches.
