The Art House is a beautiful property and we would all love to stay there again. We enjoyed the tennis courts and the heated pool. The property is a great option for those looking for a larger property that accepts pets.

Introduction
The Art House is a vibrant reflection of its owner’s creativity and travels. Each room is curated with artistic flair and frames sweeping garden views that draw the outdoors in. Perfect for multi-generational gatherings, fair-weather days at this eclectic manor can be spent lounging by the pool or sipping cocktails beneath the rose pergola as you watch the children embark on Swallows and Amazons-style adventures. Evenings promise a sociable affair – think languid dinners with a view, followed by gusty performances on a baby grand piano in the library and board games by a crackling fire.
Inside
Originally an Arts & Crafts house built in the 1890s, this home was transformed into its current incarnation by London architects. An open-plan kitchen-dining space, complete with a large picture window framing the South Downs, adjoins a cosy sitting room that retains its original period features. Across all three floors, the house is adorned with an impressive collection of 20th-century art and mid-century furniture. The main house offers four bedrooms, while a short stroll away, The Cabin (part of the pool house) has a king-size and twin bedroom, along with a sauna, table football, and snooker table.
Outside
If it’s a back-to-nature escape that you yearn for, The Art House offers an abundance of green space to immerse yourself in. There's a formal garden with a burbling rill, a wildflower meadow, vegetable garden and Mediterranean-style dining areas. Ideal for family adventures that keep everyone entertained, there's also a 17-metre heated outdoor pool, 50-metre swimming lake and a tennis court. If you are tempted out of this little Eden, you can wander on foot to explore the surrounding South Downs, following trails through rolling hills and ancient woodlands, where panoramic vistas stretch.

“The Art House has been our home for 20 years, an escape from London and the place where we and our children have chosen to celebrate all the special times of our lives from important birthdays to the christening of our first grandchild.”
There is a magic to sitting in the summerhouse with your glass of wine, watching the barn owl hunt over the meadow as the sun sets, or swimming with the dragonflies and a family of ducklings in the wild pond.
That's how we choose to start our days here, but you might prefer a more relaxed break taking in the stunning setting in which the house is immersed. From secluded yoga spots to energetic tennis 'events' with the obligatory glass of Pimms and strawberries at the ready, one thing that you can be assured of is that you won't find yourself short of things to do when you stay!
There are many beautiful walks along the South Down Way directly from the house if you want to really make the most of the countryside setting, but likewise, we find it an indulgence to have the time and space to simply be.
Discover the best destinations, experiences and restaurants to visit during your stay in Pulborough. A larger selection of recommendations will be available in the property's digital house book.
