When Chris and I first decided to get married, we knew we wanted something small, personal and meaningful to us. Northcott Beach House felt like the perfect place to make that happen. It gave us the chance to bring all our favourite people to our beloved Cornwall, while creating a home from home where our nearest and dearest could slow down, spend time together and immerse themselves in this incredible corner of the world.

Having the whole house as our venue meant we could truly put our own stamp on the day. We wanted every guest to feel considered, with thoughtful touches such as handwritten notes, handmade table favours and hand-drawn invitations. Alongside these, we decided to weave in the things we love most as a couple – from morning runs through the park and sea dips to golf competitions and saxophone covers of our favourite songs – to make the day completely unique.
As two people who don’t particularly like being the centre of attention, creating a sense of homeliness and intimacy was really important to making us feel at ease. We wanted the wedding to be less like a performance and more like a celebration: in the place we love most, surrounded by the people we love most.

It took 'all hands on deck' to bring our vision to life, but that became a real highlight of the experience. In the week before the wedding, everyone pitched in to string up festoon lights, set up decorations and solve the inevitable last-minute challenges – fostering a sense of togetherness that carried into the wedding itself and made the day feel even more special.
Northcott Beach House is a magical place, but even more so when it’s filled with your favourite people. Being able to share it with ours, make it our own and spend a whole week making memories here is something we’ll always treasure.
