Once upon a time in the late 1700s… deep within pastoral Poldark country at the end of a little farm track, an enchanted fairytale cottage was built. The Fable takes you on a whimsical journey of luxury and indulgence through ambrosial countryside, the prettiest of rose gardens and inside to where vintage farmhouse interiors and a log fire await. This self-catering thatched cottage near sought-after St Agnes village is just a few miles from the golden sandy beaches of Trevaunance Cove and Perranporth Beach.
This thatched luxury cottage near St Agnes is a dream come true for those lusting after a taste of proper Cornish indulgence. Close your eyes and picture a heart-stirring home with a quaint country charm reminiscent of The Darling Buds of May. Imagine the heavenly fragrance of English rose gardens and fresh sea air. Then, set deep within, picture a large crooked cob cottage painted in the dusky pink of a midsummer night’s sky, topped with a thick thatched roof keeping the warmth of the log burner securely inside...
Bedrooms and Bathrooms
With spacious rooms and sweet windows dotted all around, this Grade-ll listed thatch flaunts a quirky layout over four floors, like a magical never-ending cottage. The sun room is the heart of the house; to one side is the family bathroom with clawfoot bath and rain shower, whilst to the other sits a sumptuously cosy zip-and-link bedroom. The pared-back luxury farmhouse theme flows throughout, up the little staircase into the master, where a quiet seating area for reading and cushiony king-size bed for snuggling awaits.
With a little help from the mild Cornish climate, The Fable's sunny south-westerly aspect has resulted in blooming rose gardens, pretty flower beds and holly bushes heavy with juicy red berries. Children will be entertained for hours playing merrily around the house whilst grown-ups can enjoy a peaceful moment with a cream tea and paper, pondering over the afternoon’s activities to the tune of the birdsong. Oh country life!
Southwest of Newquay, the north Cornwall coastline dips and curves through a stunning panorama of rugged cliffs, turquoise coves and golden beaches. The stretch of Poldark country from Perranporth through St Agnes, Trevaunance cove, Chapel Porth and on to Porthtowan is simply stunning, and just three miles from the doorstep. Pootle down the lane to Callestick Farm, pet the friendly Friesians, meet the farmers and taste the fruits of their labour. Fresh fruit sorbets and clotted cream ice cream will be the perfect remedy after a big old stomp along the coast path. Evenings at The Fable will go something like this: toasted marshmallows over an open fire, games of tiddlywinks, story time and deep soaks in the bathtub beneath the starry skylight.
There is parking for two cars on the drive. The kitchen has all the mod cons including a double Range cooker, dishwasher, washer dryer and American fridge with freezer compartment.

Marketing Manager Francesca says
I was so excited when I was first introduced to this gorgeous cottage. What a fun and loveable home this is! Romantic and storybook like, yet still keeping a strong sense of its roots as a traditional Cornish farmhouse; The Fable has that wholesomeness that really makes it feel like home.

FOOD AND DRINK
The kitchen has all the mod cons and utensils needed for your luxury gourmet escape. The double Range cooker with induction hob will be a dream for budding chefs wanting to cook up a storm. Think al fresco garden spreads during summer and fish pie followed by fruit cobblers on the farmhouse table in wintertime.
If you'd rather spend your luxury cottage break indulging in the little luxuries, let an in-house chef prepare a mouth-watering meal for your party (on prior request and subject to an additional cost).
Offshore in Cubert has a unique setting with panoramic views over the sand dunes, perfect for wine and nibbles on the terrace. Highly recommended in St Agnes are The Taphouse and Number 4. For jaw-dropping coastal views over Fistral beach Lewinnick Lodge in Pentire. The nearby Mecca of Padstow is only a short coastal drive away, where you'll find the renowned seafood celebrity chef restaurants. And for a cosy country pub head to The Smugglers Den in Cubert.
