Thank you for the most wonderful stay. The chalet is beautiful, everything you would need and more. A perfect place to celebrate and reflect on 20 years of memories. The weather wasn’t too kind, but if there was ever a place to enjoy weather watching, it´s here. Beautiful architecture and relaxing interiors, exactly what we needed to step away from the hustle and bustle.
Suki was the most wonderful weekend retreat, absolutely stunning. We enjoyed the views, scenery and rainy days spent inside. We got engaged at the Chapel at Rame Head, highly recommend the walk. Thank you!
A magical place to stay for our first holiday as a family. Casper enjoyed naps on the cliff while we soaked in the hot tub with a coffee. Truly an unforgettable stay, thank you.
We had an incredible, relaxing time in our cabin. Thank you for creating such a peaceful space. The joy and comfort we found in this space was absolutely worth every mile we took to reach here! Suki, thank you for all the cosy memories!
We have had an absolutely fabulous stay here at Suki for our mini honeymoon! The house is cosy and inviting, with everything you could need. Sitting in the hot tub watching the waves crashing was an absolute dream. The package of local produce was so tasty and delicious, such a lovely addition! We will be recommending this stay to everyone.
We had an incredible stay at Suki. We came here on our honeymoon, and it has not disappointed. Such a calm, relaxing environment that we have both loved so much. Although we have explored the beautiful surroundings of the ‘Forgotten corner of Cornwall’, our favourite moments were spent in Suki. The eye for design is incredible and has definitely inspired us to build our own home. Thank you so much
Beautiful stay, we loved it! We were very lucky, in the hot tub one evening we spotted ‘Comet Nishimura’ which once we googled it, apparently is a ‘once-in-a-lifetime chance’! We also spotted three dolphins. Loved our beach walks, my calves might say otherwise! Suki is truly amazing, amenities fabulous, leaving feeling relaxed and rejuvenated!
We had an amazing stay for our mini moon, absolute bliss and just what we needed! Even better than the photos in real life. Suki is stunning, we´ll miss it! Thank you so much.
What a lovely place to stay. Very relaxing. We absolutely loved it! We love the pink, we didn´t have the best weather but it was cosy and warm inside the beach house. Highly recommend The Canteen for breakfast, coffee and cake. Our favourite nearby place to visit was Cawsands Bay.
We had the most amazing long weekend at Suki for our first wedding anniversary. It has breath taking views which the house lends itself to perfectly! Could not have asked for a better place to escape to.
We had an amazing stay for our minimoon, absolute bliss, just what we needed. Even better than the photos in real life. Suki is stunning. We will miss it, thank you again!
Amazing trip, we could have been on the other side of the world! Complete peace and serenity. The location makes it a great workout for your legs! Can´t wait to come back.
Absolutely utterly magic, thank you for having us to stay at Suki- we don´t want to leave! We will miss waking up to the incredible sea views and enjoying morning coffee on the deck.

Suki
Torpoint, Whitsand Bay, Cornwall, UK
The story of this Tregonhawke Cliff hideout begins in the East. Moulded from earthen materials and encased in timber slatting, its roots might rest in sukiya-zukuri architecture, but its fruits hang high above Whitsand Bay. Named after a concept that teaches the delights of refinement, elegance, and exquisitely performed tea ceremonies, Suki is a luxury beach house in Cornwall that could’ve been plucked from beneath a cherry tree in Kyoto. Introduction
As if the architects behind the abodes of a Geisha and a Samurai mixed up their blueprints, this is a home of masculine and feminine halves. In a spirit of compromise, the best of both remained: pink softens ink, terracotta tempers boucle, and carpentry warms claywork. Evoking the feeling of a traditional Japanese tea house, yet with all the coastal cool that Whitsand Bay affords, this laidback luxury beach house has the hallmarks of a romantic hideout, but with a modest twist. With its aromatic cedarwood hot tub, glass walls that unfurl like blooming sakura, and innovative eco-wood cladding, Suki brings Japandi aesthetics to Cornwall’s secret corner.
Inside
There’s something about Suki that feels like living inside the pinkish-amber glow of a Himalayan salt lamp. With blushing plaster walls, reams of natural light, a crackling Stûv woodburner, and furnishings kept to a meditative minimum, even Marie Kondo would approve of this joy-sparking space. Spend mornings elbow-to-elbow, whipping up soufflé pancakes and sipping matcha lattes while the sun dances on reclaimed tiles; at twilight, sink beneath bubbles in the stone tub, with far-reaching views from picture windows over a dazzling arm of the Atlantic. Ready for a taste of the simple life? Go where snug functionalism meets Ikigai micro-fort.
Outside
It’s Tregonhawke Cliff, but it feels like the seascapes of the Aegean Islands. On blue sky days, sit cross-legged on the terrace, engaging in whichever mindfulness practice works best for you: be it inhaling coffee, or deep in Zen. Then into the hot tub for a soak in the sky: from these great heights, six-foot-wingspan gannets seem to plunge into the sea like arrows and golden sands take on the appearance of muscovado sugar. When you can tear yourself away from this south-facing suntrap, there’s surf spots where dolphins show fin, coastal cafés serving toasted tea cakes, and beaches made for wild swimming and chilled Riesling sundowners.
There is one bedroom with a king-size bed, in-room bathtub, en suite wet room shower, and WC.

- By car Suki is around twenty-five minutes from Looe, under one hour from Dartmoor and the Tamar Valley, and four-and-a-half hours from London.
- By train Plymouth Train Station is one hour away by road. There are regular trains from London Paddington to Plymouth with a journey time of three hours on Great Western Railways. There is a local bus that travels from Plymouth to Whitsand Bay.
- By air Exeter Airport is one-and-a-half hours from Suki by car.

“It´s so discreet, that you barely notice the path that leads to Suki. The interiors were crafted by a carpenter with a past life as a boat builder, and tactile plaster walls change shades as you move through the house.”
As part of our retirement plan, we were looking for a holiday let investment to provide us with an income and an occasional escape from family and friends in Bristol. We looked at, and passed up, a number of sensible options before falling for an old timber cabin on a cliff. Although the cabin was not suitable for modern living, it sat on a freehold plot of land with the most amazing views across Whitsand Bay and beyond. We had a vision for redevelopment that was shared with Unique Homestays, and worked with the team to help develop our vision and bring it to life.
Words or photos will never do justice to the view or the sense of floating above the sea when looking out from the deck or hot tub. There is always something going on - people in miniature on the beach or in the sea, ships passing through, or the abundance of wildlife including birds flying past at eye level. Although we would highly recommend exploring the area, we honestly feel that the best days are spent here from sunrise until sunset in the relaxing confines of our little piece of Cornwall.
We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.
