This summer, British lifestyle brands Unique Homestays and The White Company reunite for a second collaboration, transforming contemporary coastal retreat Ukiyo into an immersive The White Company summer house. Marking Unique Homestays' 25th anniversary and one year of “The Club” by The White Company, the takeover will offer guests the chance to see the home through a new lens – for a limited time only.
Over the coming months, Ukiyo will become a living The White Company summer house, inviting guests to experience the brand's products as they were intended: against a backdrop of sea, sky and slow coastal living. Echoing the landscape beyond its windows, the home is fragranced with the Sea Salt candle and diffuser collection, softened by the natural texture of the Santorini pure linen range and grounded by the organic forms of the Burnham crockery set – each element chosen to sit in harmony with Ukiyo's coastal setting.
Named after the Japanese concept of Ukiyo – "the floating world" – the hideaway sits suspended above the sea in Coverack, Cornwall. Designed by owner Simon Francis in collaboration with Grand Designs alumna Kathryn Tyler, the home blends Japanese and Scandinavian architectural influences, with a deep connection to its coastal surroundings. “I’m excited for guests to experience Ukiyo as part of this exciting partnership,” Simon explains. “The products add a nice elevation to a space I’m so proud of, ensuring all touchpoints from scent to touch to sound are considered for our guests.”
Unique Homestays founder, Sarah Stanley adds: "Ukiyo felt like the natural choice for this next chapter of our partnership with The White Company. It's a home that already embodies many of the values both brands share – thoughtful design, a strong sense of place and a belief that luxury is found quietly in the details."
