In a new series of the popular Channel four travel show, presenter Sandi Toksvig is joined by some of the nation’s favourite actors, comedians and television personalities as they explore the UK’s most iconic and impressive holiday homes.

Traversing the British Isles, Sandi and her guests visit lavish coastal pads, modern architect-designed hideaways and fairytale cottages, sampling an array of local produce and activities on their way. During her trip to Cornwall, Sandi is joined by Sue Johnston who together embark on an experiential break which finds them mussel picking for supper before a stay at Wildwood Holt, and turning their hands to alpaca farming when holidaying at moorland retreat Little Inka. On the Suffolk coast, Martello tower Found Tower takes centre stage, as we discover that Alison Steadman has a secret obsession with cloudscapes, while ivy-clad cottage Wishbone provides respite for Sandi and Jenny Eclair in the Malvern Hills.

Celebrating the breath-taking one-of-a-kind homestays Britain has on offer, the series provides viewers a hearty slice of wholesome escapism through their screens. Uplifting, charming and pensive in places, the conversations that happen around all the stunning property photography will have you belly laughing one minute and drying your eyes the next.

Below we share the Unique Homestays locations featured in the show to date, along with a few extra destinations that have made the new book Extraordinary Escapes: Unique and Wild Getaways Across the UK by Gemma Bowes.
