Rory had always dreamt of getting married close to home, and after viewing a few options in the area, nothing compared to Florin. From the moment we arrived, we just knew. It was an almost surreal feeling, as if we had been there before in a dream. Warm, familiar, and utterly unique; Florin felt like home.

The beauty of the venue lies in its freedom; the blank canvas of the five-acre grounds allowed us to create a celebration that was entirely our own. Meirion, the wonderful homeowner, shared his home so generously throughout the process, always on hand but never overbearing. We were able to visit as often as we liked in the lead-up, which made planning effortless and personal. The groundskeeper became part of our story too, from trimming bushes to open up the ceremony view to joining us on the dance floor once the celebrations began.
We'd noticed that many couples who had married at Florin before us had chosen to hold their ceremonies in the back garden, facing away from the house. We decided to do things differently – to quite literally turn the space around and make it our own. My brother drove me, my bridesmaids and my dad to the very back of the garden where we began our walk down a natural yet dramatic aisle. We made our way from the far end of the grounds, down the path toward the top steps, descending through the two-tiered garden where our guests were seated, past the fountain, and finally to the altar set against the beautiful backdrop of Florin.

One of the most unforgettable moments was that walk, set to a string rendition of Jurassic Park – a song deeply meaningful to Rory. Choosing that piece for my entrance was my quiet way of honouring his journey and strength. The moment he realised what was playing is one we will never forget. From then on, the day unfolded in the loudest laughs, mosh pits, enough limoncello shots to fuel an army and dance floors that did not quit.
If we could offer one piece of advice to future couples, it would be to stay a little longer. We spent a wonderful week setting up and hosted a two-day wedding extravaganza, which allowed us to relax, enjoy and truly live in the moment. But taking some extra time afterwards to simply soak in Florin's beauty would have been the perfect finishing touch. The place holds such an incredible energy – peaceful, magical and grounding. That deserves to be savoured.

Guests still tell us it was "the best wedding they've ever been to," but the real magic was how happy we felt. At Florin, everything just flowed – effortlessly, joyfully and exactly as we had always dreamed.
