After the amount of work that goes into a wedding, you need permission and time for calm, and staying somewhere beautiful somehow gave us just that.

Our stay at Delphin in Cornwall, nestled on a clifftop just outside Porthleven, was not only the most beautiful place we have stayed together, but also the most relaxing. Every pocket of the Scandinavian style beach house invited us to sit back and chill, with throws, cushions and the most incredible floor-to-ceiling sea views. It was the perfect place for post-wedding bliss.

Our wedding flowers sat beautifully on the dining table framed by the ocean, as we prepared summer salads in the kitchen and enjoyed fizz on the balcony. One day we ate wedding cake for breakfast, the others we enjoyed brunches in bed; each day waking to the view of the sea and the calming sound of the waves.

It was hard to tear ourselves away from this beautiful house but the adventurers in us were calling. Armed with Delpin's instax camera and picnic basket we set off to explore the area to create our own memories.

We ventured to Land's End to catch some evening sunshine, took a stroll along Praa Sands, and found incredible views at Kynance Cove. Stepping away from the popular beach at Kynance Cove along the dramatic clifftops reminded us both why we love the coast so much.

St Michael's Mount is a small tidal island in Mount's Bay with cobbles, castle walls, a chapel and sub-tropical gardens. We loved how at the right time the low tide reveals the causeway for visitors to walk across. Romanticising about living on an island, we found a perfect picnic spot on the mount - next to a mural of the area. We tucked into scones with jam and cream (the Cornish way of course), and then further indulged in ice creams - impressed with the island’s flavour selection which even included a vegan mint choc chip.

We loved our summer stay so much, yet we can't help but imagine this perfect home throughout the seasons. We'd light the log fire in winter, popping on the vinyl player and catching the early sunset...
