As another new year unfolds, with it comes a new wave of interior design trends shaping our personal spaces. From past era furniture comebacks to expression through objets d'art, here is our list of predictions influencing the look and feel of our homes this year.
Liveable luxury
In 2026, expect spaces where accessibility isn't an afterthought, but an integral part of the design. Wheelchair or family-friendly travel options that don’t compromise on luxury or style and, instead, offer exactly that.
The return of the leather sofa
From fashion to design, what may once have been in vogue has a habit of coming back around. We’re calling the next comeback: the leather sofa. Practical, chic (when chosen or incorporated well), and only improves with age.
Things as art
Because, really, who gets to decide what is a thing and what is art? Now is the time to celebrate individualism. Where unique items – pots and pans, hats, or even some old farming tools – can feature as bespoke decoration.
The new neutral
Neutrals are key to many design schemes due to their calming, blank canvas quality. Alongside whites, beiges, browns and greys, greens are now often used in this same way – olive green to ground or lime green to brighten.
Summer camp
There’s something distinctly American scout hut about the new wave of joyful, uplifting cabin interiors. Where classic, tongue-and-groove walls unite with playful colours, patterns and textures, creating mini treasure troves of antique finds and bespoke pieces.
Animal instinct
Animal motifs are appearing in all manner of schemes, from minimalist to maximalist. Expressed tangibly in sculptural form or more ambiguously in artwork or textiles, they bring movement, texture and narrative; offering a refined connection to nature beyond greenery.
